Daniele Bongiovanni Artist Statement I trained at the Art Institute and in private laboratories, then I obtained a degree in Art Education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo. My training has been scientific-practical-theoretical (Pedagogy, academic painting, philosophy). I have done many studies of Aesthetics, Aesthetics of visual arts, theory of perception and the psychology of form, which is why I try to give my paintings a content that is not only poetic, but also philosophical and didactic. I try to investigate the concept and color, and the ” true ” is like an optical illusion that the absolute truth, by changing the shape and color. Over the years, as well as investigate the methods of academic painting, I am dedicated to the testing of new materials, which are applied to the canvas. I investigate on the face, on the human anatomy; a design that blends realism with abstract patterns that often define the background of my subjects. Working with oil, tempera, acrylic and mixed media on canvas, but also of wood and other rigid substrates that allow me to apply the techniques and decoration technologies (glue, chalk, natural pigments). Daniele Bongiovanni Short Biography Daniele Bongiovanni (Palermo, 11 April, 1986) is an international academic-style painter, historian, poet and illustrator. He obtained his degree in Art Education at the prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, the educational goal focused on and followed the method of the Poetics/Training of the Austrian playwright and painter Oskar Kokoschka, and the Pedagogical training entitled Through Kokoschka’s article: Analysis on the artist – laboratory pedagogy. He has become an international artist who has received several awards from around the world. His works have been exhibited in many major cities such as Venice, Paris, Las Vegas, Australia, Milan, Brescia, Chicago, Padova, Dublin, Brasil, Bologna, Naples, Liverpool, Treviso, Bari, Istanbul, Turin, Palermo, etc.).
