QUILTING CLASSES
SEWING CLASSES
SIT ‘N SEW - Bring your own project to work on.
4205 Portage Road
Kalamazoo, MI 49001
(269) 383-1244
We’re pleased to have Pat Yamin, a Nationally
well-known quilt instructor back with us for two
workshops, Joseph’s Coat and Ozark Tile.
JOSEPH’S COAT - If you have been looking
for your next piecing challenge and having fun using
your scraps, then join Pat in this creative workshop.
Piecing can be done by hand or by machine. The
convex and concave curves are easy to sew. A
hexagonal block is formed using just two pattern
pieces which are sewn to create six units, thus
making up the hexagon. Using your scraps of light, medium
and dark fabrics or as few as three colors of fabric you will create an
interlocking pattern. This traditional pattern is a true classic that you
will want to add to your quilt collection. Pat will be teaching tips and
techniques so your intersections will meet and the blocks will all lay flat.
Cost: $55
Saturday, March 21 (9:00 AM - Noon)
NOTE: This class will begin at 9:00 AM
OZARK TILE - Have you been thinking of
learning how to “set-in-seams”? Then this is the
class for you. Join Pat in this workshop to learn
the tips and techniques to sew the Ozark Tile quilt.
A popular pattern from the Kansas City Star
Newspaper from the 1930s. The center squares
can be either a muslin for a signature block, or fussy
cut them to show off your favorite print or icon. Let’s get together to
use your scrappy fabric, along with adding some new and exciting prints or
solids.
Cost: $55
Saturday, March 21 (1:00 - 4:00 PM)
If you choose to sign up for BOTH workshops, the cost will be $90.
Space is limited so sign up soon!

The Creative Grids Curves for Squares ruler is great fun and
easy to use. It can be used to make any half square curved

designer when it’s the ruler that does all the work. The
curves are gentle enough that they can be sewn almost as
quickly as a straight seam. The sewing is easy. There are a
few tricks to the cutting. I’m looking forward to sharing
them with you.
