CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY (CoC) SPECIAL LIMITS DECK OFFICER PROGRAMME Objectives of Programme The place-n-train programme for CoC (Special Limits) Officer is a programme initiated in partnership with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Workforce Development Agency (WDA), e2i (Employment and Employability Institute), Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) and Singapore Shipping Association’s (SSA) affiliated bunkering companies. The programme aims at providing a new route for locals to work as CoC (Special Limits) Deck Officers onboard vessels plying within Special Limits (refer to voyage limits below) Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the safe navigation of the ship Oversee and manage cargo operations Allocate duties for the maintenance of the vessel Observe national and international codes of conduct in governing sea transportation Programme Details Successful applicants will have to attend an intensive 24.5-months training programme comprising of 4 training phases: Programme Structure Duration Phase 1: Pre-sea Classroom Training at Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) 4.5 months Phase 2: OJT onboard ship (Sea Service) 13 months Phase 3: Classroom Examination Preparatory Course at SMA 5.5 months Phase 4: Specialization Training 1.5 months Total 24.5 months Funding Support Course Fees Training Allowances $20,000/pax Fully Funded by e2i, MPA and shipping companies Phase 1: $1,200/month Phase 2-4: $1,400/month Eligibility Criteria Singaporeans and Singapore PRs with at least GCE ‘N’ level passes in English, Maths, Science or Workplace Literacy Level 5 (WPL 5) Where to Register Interest To receive notification for the next Job Opportunities Briefing for this programme, leave your contacts here (hyperlink: https://e2i.com.sg/individuals/job-opportunities/register-interest-formaritime-industry/maritime-industry-registration-form/) More information on the Special Limits Region
