Visioneum Energy+ – The building in Königsbrunn is intended to act as an example of best practice for forwarding-looking homes and construction. – The latest technologies and materials have been used; the building services are regularly updated to state-of-theart standard. – The project is being supported by scientists and students from the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. ePlan B – On a P & R hub in Buchloe are e-mobility charging infrastructure and 15 electric cars available for commuters. – The electrical cars should be charged in such a way that the electric supply network is not overloaded. Special control mechanisms have been developed for this. As far as possible, solar power generated in the region is to be used to charge the electrical cars. Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 20 Innovations that start trends (II) > > > Factory with flexible energy (ForeEnergy) – FOREnergy is a joint project of 33 partners from science and industry, including the company Lechwerke AG. – The project partners are developing new solutions and methods for the flexible controlling of energy demand in a factory. – In the framework of the project, the Lechwerke power stations use flexible loads from SGL Carbon in Meitingen (graphite furnaces) to be sold on the electricity balancing markets (short-term reserve). LEW energy facade – In the project, a photovoltaic plant is being tested in combination with battery storage for use in the industrial sector. The LEW training workshop acts as a test building. – A façade plant is used for this. This combines the advantage of year-round production with a flat (and thus network-suitable) generation curve. – As an alternative to lithium-ion battery storage, a lead gel battery has been installed in this project. Environmental projects: hydroelectric power – BEW is guaranteeing the ecological passability of the Iller and Wertach rivers with fish ladders. – The water body structure is improved by the creation of gravel spawning grounds and the incorporation of deadwood to encourage fish settlement. – In the projects, BEW is testing new approaches in bed load management and creating near-natural waterside structures. Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 21 Responsibility for our environment > Hydropower = climate protection - 36 hydroelectric power stations supply over 1,1 billion kWh of electricity, as a result saving the environment 750,000 t of CO2 (compared with conventional hard coal-fired generation) > Distributed energy generation plants - Over 60,000 plants feed with up to 1,7 MW Performance renewables-based energy into the LEW grid: Hydropower, photovoltaic, biomass, wind energy, landfill/sewage gas, combined heat and power generation - Costs of Renewable Energy Sources Act funding 2013: over € 702 million > Environmental measures on water and land - Flood protection, water protection, fishstairs, beaver protection, debris management (gravel banks) - Protection of the landscape/nature, bird protection > Environmental management, environmental manual and certificates Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 22 Social Commitment For example: > Culture > Social - Swabian Summer of Arts - Bunter Kreis - Die Kiste – Museum of Puppet Theater in Augsburg - Schwäbische Tafeln - Cultural Festival Memminger Meile - Competition „Volle Energie“ (Full of energy) - German Poetry Slam Competition - Festival of the Nations > Sports - Shirt sponsoring competition „Leistung lohnt“ (Performance pays off) - Augsburger Panther, EC Peiting EA Schongau (Eishockey) > Environment - ProNah Unterallgäu - Environment station Mooseum > Education / Other - FC Memmingen (Football) - 3malE - LEW Runningtour - Bavarian Museum of Schools Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 23 Executive and advisory board Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 24 Management Board of Lechwerke AG Dr. Markus Litpher Norbert Schürmann Commercial manager Technical manager > Cross-divisional and control functions (corporate development, legal, controlling, accounting, HR, IT) > LEW Verteilnetz GmbH > LEW Netzservice GmbH > LEW Service & Consulting GmbH (Call/Billing, IT) > Other participations > Distribution private customers > Distribution business customers > Energy procurement > Communication and marketing > LEW TelNet GmbH > Bayerische Elektrizitätswerke GmbH (generation) > Other participations Lechwerke AG 02.10.2015 Seite 25 Beirat der Lechwerke AG Bernd Böddeling Member of the Board of RWE Deutschland AG Richard Fank Chief Executive Officer Kreisspark.
