2016 Move-‐In/Out Information: - New Orleans Home and Garden
2016 Move-‐In/Out Information: MOVE-‐IN DATES & TIMES OVERVIEW Move-‐In for the Home & Garden Show is done in a “front of the floor first” pattern. In the following pages, you will find a floor map with your suggested Move-‐In day. Using the current Exhibitor List on our website {http://neworleanshomeshows.com/info/exhibitors/}, please match you booth number to your Move-‐In day. (Please note: Booth locations may be changed, or shifted as the show becomes closer. Please be sure and double-‐check your location on March 7th.) Wednesday, March 9th -‐ 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Entrance into the Superdome loading dock area will be via the West side (closer to the Interstate) of the street closure on Dave Dixon Drive. We ask that you stage in the (middle) turning lane and not block the Interstate exit ramp. Thursday, March 10th -‐ 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM Entrance into the Superdome loading dock area will be via the West side (closer to the Interstate) of the street closure on Dave Dixon Drive. We ask that you stage in the (middle) turning lane and not block the Interstate exit ramp. Friday, March 11th -‐ 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Hand carry and carts only. Vehicles will be allowed to stage on Dave Dixon Dr. (Girod St); space permitting. However, no vehicles will be allowed to drive into the Superdome on Friday. All vehicles must be clear of Dave Dixon Dr. by 12:00 Noon or they will be towed. MOVE-‐OUT DATES & TIMES OVERVIEW Move Out will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 13th. Do not start move out before the show ends; while discourteous to the patrons on the show floor who paid to attend, it also dangerous. Monday, March 14th – 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Full vehicle access will be allowed on Monday. All items must be removed from the Superdome by 3:00 PM. Any items left will be considered trash. PLEASE NOTE: • Exhibitors with a balance due will not be allowed to move in until the balance is Paid-‐In-‐Full. • Exhibitors will be allowed to drive into the Superdome on Wednesday and Thursday. Carpet will be down on Friday, so anything moved in on Friday will have to be carried or carted in. • The load-‐in doors are located off Dave Dixon Dr. (Girod St.). Superdome regulations do not allow for Move-‐In/Out through the lobby on Poydras Street/Sugar Bowl Dr. • If you do not, or are not able to, make your scheduled time, you may move in later. It may, however, mean that clear access to your booth is not easily available. Please be patient with our staff as they help to accommodate you. • If building or setting up your booth takes a long time, you should plan to arrive before Noon on Wednesday, regardless of your suggested Move-‐In time. Please note, if you are scheduled to Move-‐In on Thursday, your booth may not yet have the pipe and drape set. Exhibitor Parking: •

ELECTRICAL CODE
Electrical Services for Exhibits at Convention Facilities
Electrical requirements for an exhibit at all convention facilities are for the safety of all exhibitors and are based on national Electrical Code and local ordinances.
Too frequently, fires have been traceable to faulty wiring, sometimes because of carelessness and/or because of lack of understanding of the risks involved.
In the interest of public safety, exhibits in the convention facilities may be inspected to determined if any violations exist. If they are found, qualified electricians
are available to correct the problems. This work will be performed on a labor and material basis. If the exhibitor does not wish to have the fault corrected,
electrical services to the offending booth will not be connected.
If an exhibitor is not informed or does not understand basic safety standards for electrical wiring, an electrician should be consulted before shipment is made to
the convention facilities.
Serious risks are involved which can be eliminated by understanding basic requirements of safe wiring inside your booth. For the safety of you and the public,
remember these points:
• All wiring must have a 3-wire grounded cord with a minimum of #14 gauge.
• Spot or flood lighting is a hazard when lamps are too close to fabrics or other material which can be affected by heat.
• The use of clip-on sign sockets, latex or lamp cord wire in displays, or the use of 2-wire clamp-on fixtures, is prohibited by order of fire
prevention bureaus at trade shows and conventions.
• Our company rents approved extension cords and plug strips which provide safe multiple plug-in capabilities.
• Zip cords or two-wire cords are ungrounded and could result in safety hazards. Their use is forbidden in all convention facilities. Please leave
all 2-wired cords at home!
