Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta Position: Director Marketing & Resource Development Leading brand in non-profit sector seeks marketing/sales leader to join new CEO in revitalizing organization's efficiency, team spirit and outreach approaches. The Director of Marketing & Resource Development (“Director”) participates in setting the operational vision and goals for Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta. The Director creates and implements a marketing & resource development business plan which supports the business development strategic plan. The business plan focuses on maximizing revenue, creating differentiation, ensuring consistency and finding organizational efficiencies. The Director establishes performance measures, monitors results and helps the President & CEO, Board committees and Leadership Team evaluate the effectiveness of marketing and resource development programs. The Director develops corresponding short and long-range plans for marketing and resource development. Develops and manages marketing programs and projects, and serves as a central liaison and supporting the marketing and resource development staff. Creates and implements an effective comprehensive resource development plan focusing on identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals, corporations, foundations, government, external associations and community partners. Accountabilities: Strategy and Leadership Mission, Policy and Planning Management, Administration and Program Development Organizational Culture Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree; Minimum 5 years of marketing and resource/business development with a national brand. Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and resource development program which produced increased brand awareness and increased charitable contributions. Demonstrated experience with a variety of traditional and modern marketing and communications functions. Understands all aspects of print material production, development and implementation of social media plans and working with the press and other related media outlets. Strong analytic, interpersonal communication and writing skills. Innovative and critical thinking skills; ability to solve problems. Ability to sell ideas and concepts and work persuasively with colleagues. Demonstrated knowledge and applications of marketing and development principles and tools. CFRE certification an asset Access to a vehicle is required. Key Success Factors: Leadership Skills: Must be able to think strategically and act tactically with the ability to translate broad goals into achievable steps. Demonstrates initiative and can lead, cultivate and nurture a team that delivers on goals and targets. Personal Attributes: Will bring a creative yet practical approach to marketing and resource development. Is a highly skilled and proven fundraiser. Must be able to plan and meet deadlines while maintaining a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of the role. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Has an underlying strength in strategic analysis and communication with a disciplined and analytical background who can act quickly in execution. Must be an organized and seasoned professional who is an exceptionally gifted communicator, willing to roll up their sleeves and be comfortable in an entrepreneurial business environment. Sound Judgement and Strong Ethical Foundation: Strong presence, strategic judgment and common sense necessary for effective leadership. Guided in all actions by solid business instincts and judgement. Must demonstrate the highest standard of ethical dealings with all stakeholders. Passion: Demonstrated interest and commitment to the specific vision and mission of HFHSA.
