Arina Alba
My name is Arina Alba, 34 years old, translator and
interpreter, and a member of ITA from 2013.
I was born and raised in Brazil, and from 2008 I live
in Israel. I have been living in Jerusalem from 2011.
Before working full time as a translator, I worked in
other professions such as French teacher,
administrative assistant and saleswoman. From all
those professions I could learn interesting things for
my life and also for my performance as a
translator/interpreter.

Here's some info about myself:
I have many years' translation experience - mostly
technical and legal translations.
I have also spent 10 years working as a translator
and editor with Ford Motor Company and the PAG,
later Jaguar Land Rover.
currently I own a small business in Holland (Goldan
Translations Editing Ltd) and a new small business
here in Israel (@Business ‫ ת לעסקים‬- ‫)א‬

‫‪Eliram Braudo‬‬
‫‪Born in England, Eliram grew up in Israel. He has a‬‬
‫‪B.Sc. in Physics and an M.Sc. in Geophysical‬‬
‫‪Sciences from Tel Aviv University. He worked at‬‬
‫‪Israel Aircraft Industries, first in real-time‬‬
‫‪programming and later in technical documentation in‬‬
‫‪both Hebrew and English. He then worked at Telrad‬‬
‫‪reviewing English technical documents and preparing‬‬
‫‪their release to customers, and at StarCore (at the‬‬
‫‪time a Motorola subsidiary) as a technical writer. In‬‬
‫‪recent years Eliram does Hebrew > English‬‬
‫‪translations, mainly of technical and academic‬‬
‫‪papers. ITA Coordinator of monthly lecture evenings.‬‬

‫כמנתחת מערכות בתחום של מערכות מידע גיאוגרפיות (‪.)GIS‬‬
‫למדתי גיאוגרפיה לתואר שני‪ ,‬ובמשך השנים רכשתי תחומי‬
‫ידע שונים‪ ,‬החל מעבודה עם תוכנות ‪ CAD‬וניתוח מערכות‬
‫בתחום ה‪ ,IT-‬דרך לימודי משחק בסטודיו למשחק ועד לתרגום‬
‫בבית ברל‪.‬‬
‫כיום עוסקת בעיקר בלוקליזציה‪ ,‬ומשלבת תרגום באמצעות כלי‬
‫‪ CAT‬עם עריכה ועם שירותים נוספים כמו בקרת איכות‪ ,‬ניהול‬
‫טרמינולוגיה‪ ,‬כתיבת הנחיות למתרגמים ועוד‪ .‬עובדת כעצמאית‬
‫מול חברות תרגום ישראליות ובינלאומיות‪ ,‬עבור לקוחות סופיים‬
‫כמו חברות אינטרנט וחברות תוכנה מהגדולות בעולם‪.‬‬
‫יש לי ניסיון וידע מגוונים במיוחד‪ ,‬החל מעבודה מול גופים‬
‫ציבוריים בארץ ועד למתן שירותים לחברות טכנולוגיה‬
‫מתקדמות‪ .‬הניסיון שלי כמנתחת מערכות בא לידי ביטוי בחלק‬
‫גדול מהעבודות שאני עושה כיום‪ ,‬עם יכולת לשלב בין ראיית‬
‫התמונה הכוללת לבין עבודה על הפרטים הקטנים ברמת‬
‫הפסיק והגרש‪.‬‬
‫‪Emanuel Weisgras‬‬
‫‪Emanuel Weisgras is originally from New York City‬‬
‫‪where he grew up in a multilingual household. He‬‬
‫‪made Aliyah with his family in 2011. Prior to making‬‬
‫‪Aliyah, he was a prosecutor with the Manhattan‬‬
‫‪District Attorney's Office for five and a half years. He‬‬
‫‪is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey,‬‬
‫‪and Israel and has his own independent law practice‬‬
‫‪here. However, he prefers to devote more than‬‬
‫‪ninety percent of his practice to translation,‬‬
‫‪especially of legal documents. He lives in the Shfela‬‬
‫‪with his wife (boss) and 3 small children who are the‬‬
‫‪reason for his existence.‬‬

‫אחרות וההשפעה ההדדית ביניהן‪.‬‬
‫‪ ‬עכשיו הוא עוסק בכתיבת מילון אטימולוגי על מקור המילים‬
‫המשותפות בין הערבית‪ ,‬העברית והשפות האירופיות‬
‫ומתמקד באטימולוגיה של המילים שחדרו לערבית דרך‬
‫העברית‪.‬‬

Janet Lerner
Born in Boston; Young Judea Year Course 1966/67; BA
(French) from University of Massachusetts/Boston 1970;
immigrated to Israel May 31, 1972.
Translation certificate (Hebrew-English) from Beit Berl
(1988). ITA recognition certificate 2010. Worked in-house for
M. Firon & Co., attorneys and notaries, from 1975-2011.
Member of the Audit Committee since 2012.
Julian Millett
Born in Nottingham England 1948. Jewish Public school boarding
from 8-15 years old. Worked in retailing and have a passion for
theatre. Launched own retail company on London stock exchange
in 1978 and sold out in 1986. Still 100 stores in UK with my name
on them. Aliyah with wife + 2 1994. Now divorced, English teaching
wife lives round the corner. Started Kadimme translations in 1995
with Avi Robinson Arabic genius and kept email name ever since.
Launched company on back of contracts with Jerusalem Post and
Eric Cohen books + many other interesting projects including many
museums and translating the eulogy to English for Yitzchak Rabin.
Continued retailing as Managing Director of Marks and Spencer
Israel, helping franchise holder Blue Square Co-op to replace all
branches with Zara, the most successful retailer Israel has ever
had. Remained on Board of all Hamashbir retail mutagim, and also
advisor to the Sakal Group. Advisor to retail companies in the UK
and Chairman of a group of hairdressers in UK going for 25 years
uninterrupted growth. Specializing today in translating to/ from
Sinhalese, Hindi and Korean plus English editing, working mainly
with Israeli solicitors, but recent projects include 3D historical maps
of ancient Israel for many museums. English literature and retail
enthusiast, close friend Sir Paul Stebbings brings world travelling
Shakespeare company to Israel yearly and this year did Romeo
and Juliet with half black and half white cast! Many other projects
being undertaken now. I would like to bring my managerial
capabilities and experience to assist your Audit Committee and
help increase revenues for independent translators.

David Scott
After a 10-year hiatus milking cows and picking almonds on a
kibbutz, I returned to working in my profession as a CPA. I
originally qualified in the UK and made aliya in 1977 for
ideological reasons (my football team – The Arsenal – was
going through a bad patch). After requalifying as an Israeli
CPA, I worked in the field of financial management for a
number of different organizations. On returning from a 2-year
overseas work posting in 2000, circumstances conspired to
compel me to seek a new career path; hence, I ended up a
freelance translator specializing in financial and business
translating. I am certified by the ITA as a recognized
translator and have lectured and attended the Association’s
annual conferences for many years. I am also part of the
ITA’s mentoring program.
