Area Places of Worship An elderly man was sitting quietly in his rocking chair speaking softly to his grandson. “It took me 40 years,” he said, “to learn three simple truths. I would like you to learn them at an early age. One, I could do nothing to be victorious over my sins. Two, that God did not expect me to. And three, that Christ has done it all for me.” David taught those three simple truths centuries ago in one simple verse, “Victory comes from You, oh Lord.” A story is told of a prisoner, who with the help of his friends planned an escape. Through careful planning they smuggled a gun into the prison yard and hid it. They informed him that a ladder would be up against the wall where the searchlight would not expose it. And they told him that a vehicle would be awaiting him at a certain hour. “But,” he asked, “how do I get out of my cell?” “That’s up to you,” they said. Obviously, he did not escape. He remained in his cell because he could not take the first step. But our Lord has taken the first step in our salvation. He loved the world so very much that He gave His one and only Son to be our Savior. Now, we must do one of two things: receive Him or reject Him. Our Lord is a seeking Lord who will save us from our sin through His salvation. It does belong to Him, but He willingly extends it to all of us. Visit us at Guido Gardens, Metter, GA. Bob Puffer spent 13 years in country music, beginning his music career in the nightclub business where he made significant progress toward a lucrative future as a performer and songwriter. In 1977, Bob appeared on the national television show HeeHaw. In 1980, he made an appearance on the Joe Franklin Show. He later contracted for a major concert where he shared billing with the Oakridge Boys. He was often interviewed as an up-and-coming country music personality. In September 1986, (and after much prayerful consideration), the Lord led Bob to step out on faith to enter the full-time gospel music ministry. Bob plays a multitude of instruments, including guitar, five-string banjo, violin, mandolin, dobro, Gretch (Chet Atkins) guitar, ukulele and flute. Darleen added a new dimension to the music ministry with vocals, keyboard, sax and clarinet. Bob and Darleen currently travel throughout the United States with their music ministry, performing between 150 and 200 concerts/services each year. Their music contains a variety of styles including traditional gospel, southern gospel, country, folk and many humorous songs, which are often requested. A donation of just $5 is requested at the door on the night of the concert. The church is located at 1210 W. Del Webb Blvd. in Sun City Center.
