Norview Goes 21st
Century
Norview High has implemented the
use of social media for the 2015-2016
school year in order to build our
relationship with students, parents
and community members to keep
everyone informed of the great things
happening within the school. In order
to maximize our potential use of
social media specific procedures
have been put in place to ensure the
education of children is put first and
foremost. At times we would like to
share student achievements on our
site. In order to allow your student’s
picture be used, a media release form
will be necessary. Studies have
shown that social media is the
quickest and most effective method to
inform the community of happenings
within the school. For urgent matters
regarding student safety or well-being,

Attendance Matters
“We can’t teach them if they aren’t in
the seat.” When students improve their
attendance rates, they improve their
academic prospects and chances for
graduating. If an absence is necessary,
please adhere to the following:
Absenteeism in the first month
of school can predict poor
attendance throughout the
school year. Half the students
who miss 2-4 days in
September go on to miss nearly
a month of school

Students are allotted 6 absences per
semester.

Any absence over 6 will result
in automatic failure of the
course.

Documentation of an absence should be
turned in to the Main Office upon the
students return to school.


Parents/Guardians should keep a record
of all excused absence notes (doctor,
dental, court, etc).
Students at risk of failing due to
absences must fill out an
attendance appeal sheet which is
found in Academic Affairs. This pertains
to all students even if notes were


previously turned in.

Date Deadline: January 15th

Student Support
As a parents, you have a vital influence on your children’s educational journey. You
have the power to shape your children’s attitudes and beliefs about the value and
importance of education. As your children grow and learn, they can and should be
able to take a greater role in their own education. Norview High School faculty and
staff knows that as a parent you have questions and deserve answers. Whether
your child just entered high school or is about to graduate and begin their future,
hopefully you will find useful information that makes you a more informed parent
and your student academically successful.
