PLEASE SUPPORT THIS SPECIAL CLASS
Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding
and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six
Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire,
Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the
largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. Since 1991, the charity has
responded to more than 42,000 missions averaging 2,000 per year, making
it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in
the UK.
The charity’s three aircraft each carry a crew comprising pilot, two
paramedics or flight doctors plus full life-support medical equipment.
Operating from strategically located regional airbases, 90 per cent of the
region is within reach within eight minutes. If a patient reaches hospital within
the Golden Hour (60 minutes after their injury) their chances of survival are
dramatically increased. That is why the rapid response of the Midlands Air
Ambulance is so vital in an emergency situation.
What is not widely known is that Midlands Air Ambulance receives no
Government or National Lottery funding.

copy of the rules is NOT included with this schedule all exhibitors are reminded that they should read
Section 4 of the Show Rules, as they will be strictly applied. Ignorance will not be accepted as an excuse
for a breach of the rules. (Copies of the Rules may be obtained from the GCCF Office, 5 Kings Castle
Business Park, The Drove, Bridgwater, Somerset. TA6 4AG).
REGISTRATION
No cat or kitten, entire or neutered, born after 19.10.71 with one or both parents unregistered, shall be
eligible for the Open Classes. All pedigree cats, kittens or neuters exhibited at a GCCF Show must be
registered. All registered exhibits which have changed hands, must have been transferred to their new
owners at least 21 days before the Show. All registrations and/or transfers must have reached the GCCF
Office at least 21 days before the Show. If the registration form has not been received when completing
the entry form, write the name applied for and put NAF (Number Applied For) in the appropriate columns
and forward number to the Show Manager as soon as possible. Your first choice of name should be
entered in the appropriate column. Cats registered on the Reference Register are not eligible to be
shown and these entries will be disqualified.
All Household Pets 6 months and over must be neutered.
SHOW ENTRY
The registered owner/s must complete the official entry form exactly as recorded on the
registration/transfer certificate. The registered owner/s are responsible for the correct description of the

spelling of names etc. please do not omit to read and sign the declaration – if joint owners, both must
sign the form. Exhibits must be entered in the appropriate Open class and two other classes. Alterations
to entries must be made in writing and corrections may be made up to the close of the show. No

VETERINARY
Exhibits will be received at the entrance of the Show hall from 7.30am until 9.45am on the morning of the
Show. All exhibits must be brought to the Show in baskets or suitable containers (preferably top
opening) and must be accompanied by the owner/s or their representative. Each exhibit will be
examined by the Veterinary Surgeons, who are authorised to exclude an exhibit they consider unfit. No
exhibit may be penned before being so examined. Any exhibit rejected by the Veterinary Surgeon must
be removed by its owner/s and the Entry Fees forfeit. If, in the Veterinary Surgeons, opinion, it is
desirable, all other exhibits from the same household and owner/s shall be debarred from attending the
Show. The Veterinary Surgeons decision is final. Where an exhibit has been rejected, it shall not be
represented to a second Veterinary Surgeon. The procedure to be adopted in such cases is clearly
stated in the GCCF Rules. Please ensure you cat has clipped claws before vetting in.
Amended Rule (Section 2, Rule 5e, Effective 01.06.2002). All exhibits must have a current vaccination
certificate against FIE, FVR and FCV (cat flu). The full course or booster, in accordance with the
manufacturer’s recommendations, must have been completed more than seven days before the show.
The Certificate must have been issued by a veterinary practice/hospital and the last entry signed by a
Veterinary Surgeon or by a listed Veterinary Nurse under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon. Cats
without a valid vaccination certificate will be rejected under Section A (unless the Certificate is
received by GCCF within 7 days of the Show). The certificate should clearly indicate the identity of the
exhibit and owner and must be available for inspection at vetting-in. N.B. Homeopathic vaccination
cannot be accepted for the purpose of showing under Section 4, Rule 4f.
If a cat should require any veterinary treatment in the absence of the owner, the owner/exhibitor shall be
liable for any costs incurred.
The GCCF recommend that all cats and kittens owned by exhibitors be regularly tested for FeLV and
FIV. Cats or kittens showing a positive reaction to a Feline Leukaemia Virus or Feline Immunodeficiency
Virus blood test must not be shown
JUDGES
Judges are empowered to withhold any prize in any class if the exhibits do not, in their opinion, possess
sufficient merit. Prizes will be awarded from the Judge’s award slip, not from any catalogue or prize card.
A Judge’s decision is final. Exhibitors may not approach a Judge, or enter into conversation with a
Judge, until that Judge’s engagement is complete. Exhibitors may withdraw their exhibits from
competition in any Breed or Title Class affected by changes in Judges and entry fees for such classes
must then be refunded on demand. Penning fees are not repayable.
PRESENTATION OF EXHIBITS
Take pride in presenting your exhibit; be sure it is comfortable, warm and relaxed. Exhibitors should
provide each exhibit with a white sanitary tray, white drinking bowl and a clean, plain white blanket or
blankets without distinctive marking or edging, which may be arranged in such a manner as to assist the
comfort of the cat. Cellular blankets are not allowed but white Vet-Bed or like material may be used if
preferred. A hot water bottle, heat reflecting material or cool-pack may be used, provided they are
covered by the blanket. A container of water must be left in the pen but food containers must be
removed before judging commences at 10.00 am and cannot be returned until 12.30pm. White
equipment may be purchased at the Show. The use of grooming aids in the Show Hall, other than the
use of a clean brush and comb or cloth is prohibited. No powder or grooming substances may be left in
the coat of exhibits. The use of shampoos that may change the colour of the cats coat can lead to
disqualification. The use of any products, including Skullcap or Valerian, which change a cats normal
appearance or physical reaction is forbidden at GCCF Shows and will lead to disqualification under
Section 4, Rule 14.
JUDGES ARE INSTRUCTED TO PASS ANY PEN THAT IS DISTINGUISHED IN ANY WAY
Please note that any Cat, Kitten or Neuter biting or inflicting injury by deliberately scratching a Judge,
Veterinary Surgeon, Steward or other Show Official must be reported to the Show Manager. The exhibit
will be withdrawn from the Show and the owner informed in writing, with a copy to the Secretary of the
GCCF. If the cat was defending itself in exceptional and frightening circumstances, that information shall
be given to the GCCF for consideration.
7
Vetting-in slips, exhibitor’s passes, etc. will be handed to exhibitors at the Show Hall entrance. No written
or printed matter other than official notices and award cards may be put on the competitive pens.
Exhibition pens only may be decorated and may carry printed matter relating to the exhibit.
Exhibits actually received in the Show Hall cannot be removed without the written sanction of the Show
Manager. Exhibits are received on condition that the Club shall not be held responsible in any way for
any loss or damage to persons, cats, baskets or any other property, or in any other way.
No exhibit may be removed from its pen before the Show closes at 16.30 or earlier at the Show
Managers discretion . Failure to observe this Rule will result in disqualification of forfeiture or any awards
or prize money. This Rule will be strictly enforced.
We are now required to report any exhibitor who leaves before the closing time, whether with or without
permission.
EXHIBITORS
Any person (whether an Exhibitor or not) in any way interfering with or removing any exhibit from its pen
during the Show, except with the consent of the Show Manager, will be reported to the GCCF and will
forfeit any awards that may be due to their exhibit. Exhibitors are forbidden to carry their exhibits around
the Show Hall and they must not be held in such a way as to annoy other exhibits. No one may remove
any exhibit from its pen except the owner or a Club Official. Would exhibitors please note that advertising
the future attendance of your cat(s) at any GCCF Show could lead to disciplinary action under Section 4
Rule 18 and great care should be taken when advertising in magazines, newspapers, newsletters or on
the Internet.
TOXIC DISINFECTANTS, AEROSOLS AND SPRAYS ARE BANNED FROM THE SHOW HALL
NEW RULES
SECTION 3 Rule 11 (effective 1.6.97) No person may steward at all for any Judge under whom he or a
member of his household is exhibiting in a Breed or Title Class. This rule also applies to any person who
is acting as an agent for the owner of a cat entered in a relevant class. This shall also include cats not
entered in the Breed but to be considered for Best of Breed. “Agent” is defined as “any person given
responsibility by the owner for the cat on show day”.
IMPORTANT: Queens who are pregnant, lactating or who have kittened within the previous 12 weeks
must not be shown. Veterinary Surgeons are instructed to reject any queen in these conditions.

Neutered cats, male or female, must be registered. Neuters may enter only neuter
classes and may not compete with entire cats or kittens except in Club Classes which
are scheduled to include neuters. Where Best in Show is held, the best Neuter shall
be considered against the Best Entire Adult and Kitten for Best Exhibit in Show.
Exhibits bred by exhibitor/s. cats originally registered in the Breeder’s joint ownership
but changed to single ownership of one of the Breeders can still be entered in this
class. Cats originally registered in the Breeder’s single ownership and changed to
joint ownership with the Breeder should be entered in the Non-Breeder’s Class,
Exhibits that have never been shown at a show held under GCCF Rules. (If
Debutante Adult and Neuter classes are offered at a show, entry as a Debutante
Kitten does not count when the exhibit is shown as an adult or neuter and entry as a
Debutante Adult or Kitten does not count when the exhibit is neutered and shown).

under GCCF Rules.
Exhibits that have not won a First Prize in any class at a show held under GCCF
Rules.
Exhibits that have not won more than four First Prizes in any class at a show held

Exhibits between 2 years and 7 years on Show day.
Exhibits 7 years and over on Show day.
Exhibits living within 30 miles of the Show hall.
Exhibits living over 30 miles of the Show hall.
Cat, Kittens or Neuters attending the Show for Exhibition only and not entered into
any competitive classes.
For experimental breeds only, entrants may also enter the appropriate Miscellaneous
and Club Classes. Entries must include a Standard of Points which has been
approved by the GCCF, if it is not printed in the Official Standard of Points Book.
The status of the exhibit for entering restricted classes (i.e. Maiden, Limit etc.) shall be the cat’s status
on the day of entry, except where Section 2 Rule 15e applies. Wins as a kitten do not count when the
exhibit is shown as an Adult or Neuter; wins as an Adult do not count when the exhibit is neutered and
shown. Merit Awards do not count as ‘wins’ for entering restricted classes.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ENTERING SHOW
Where possible, always complete your show entry form from your GCCF registration document (i.e.
Registration or Transfer Certificate) for the cat that is to be exhibited, printing the details carefully to
avoid any misinterpretation of your handwriting. If the document you have is headed ‘APPLICATION
FOR THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF REGISTERED CATS’ this means that the cat is not
registered in your name and you must complete the form and send it back to the GCCF with the transfer
fee as soon as possible. It must be received by the GCCF no later than 10 days before the show.
If you have not received your registration document at the time of entry, complete the show entry form
with the details from the pedigree, giving the first choice of name if it is a non-prefix registration, and put
RAF (Registration Applied For) or TAF (Transfer Applied For), or both, in the Registration No. box It is
wise to enclose a stamped self-addressed acknowledgement postcard with all registration and transfer
applications, particularly for cats entered for shows, so that you know that the application has been
received by the GCCF.
9
Try to keep a copy of your entry form - then, when you receive registration details and number, check
these against the entry form and notify the Show Manager in writing of any differences in the details, as
well as giving the registration number, if applicable. This may not be in time for the printing of the Show
Catalogue, but the Show Manager should attach your letter to your entry form which will save
unnecessary notification of discrepancies when the show is checked. All Catalogue errors are checked
against the original entry form and any exhibitors' letters are used for reference. Show management are
permitted to accept corrections, at their own discretion, up to the close of the show (on show day). Any
such correction must not be an addition or substitution of any exhibit for which proof of entry cannot be
validated or a change of exhibitor/owner.
If you are entering several cats from your household and the registered owners (exhibitors) differ within
that household/family, check with the Show Manager whether using one entry form is acceptable or not,
and if it is, indicate very clearly which exhibitor owns which cat, ensuring all owners sign the entry form.
It may be less confusing and more acceptable to the Show Manager for each owner to use separate
entry forms, but joint owners of an exhibit(s) should always use the same form and both must sign.
GCCF Rules Section 4 Rule 26 - Exhibitors are reminded that the decisions of the judges are final. Any
attempt to influence such decisions, or to identify a cat or ownership of a cat to a judge at a show before
that judge’s engagement has been completed may render the offender liable to disciplinary action.
STATUS OF ERRORS - WHAT TO EXPECT
MINOR ERRORS
These warrant a notification for your reference if the error occurs more than once and it is apparent that
registration details were available at the time of entry, or before the date of the show. Continuous
repetition of the same error after notification will be referred to the Executive Committee.
Examples of minor errors include:
(a)
Spelling errors
(b)
Separation of cat's names that should be one word, and vice versa
(c)
Administrative/breeder's prefix omitted from, or partially incorrect name given for exhibit
(d)
Overseas title preceding the name of an exhibit, sire or dam etc.
(e)
Full breed number known but not given
(f)
Sire and Dam reversed or named incorrectly
(g)
Breeder joint when single and vice versa
INCORRECT DATE OF BIRTH
This is usually classed as a minor error unless it affects an entry into classes based on age groups,
when it could warrant disqualification of the exhibit from such classes; but if the incorrect date of birth
affects the age suitability as a whole, then the exhibit will be disqualified from the show.
N.B. AGE LIMITS:
Kittens - not less than 14 weeks and under 9 calendar months on date of
show.
Adults - not less than 9 calendar months on date of show.
INCORRECT NAME OF EXHIBIT/OWNER/BREEDER
If registration/transfer details were obviously available at the time of entry or before the date of the show,
disqualification is inevitable. The following discrepancies are those which usually arise:
EXHIBIT
*
Totally incorrect name
REGISTERED OWNER/
*
Joint when they should be single and vice versa
EXHIBITOR
*
Declaration not signed by registered owner/s
N.B. The exhibitor(s) must be the registered owner(s) of
the cat and not necessarily the person who actually
takes the cat to the show
BREEDER
*
Totally incorrect name or names
N.B. The breeder of a cat is always the registered
owner of the dam on the date of the cat's birth.
REGISTRATION/TRANSFER NOT RECEIVED BY GCCF 10 DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE
SHOW : These entries will be disqualified. Remember, the effective date of all registrations and transfers
is the first date of valid receipt by the GCCF, and if you enclose your own stamped addressed
acknowledgement card with your application form this will be stamped with the GCCF Office date of
receipt.
10
TRANSFER OF EXHIBIT FROM EXHIBITOR TO A NEW OWNER RECEIVED BY GCCF MORE THAN
10 DAYS BEFORE THE DATE OF THE SHOW
Entries such as these will also be disqualified as the exhibitor's entry form becomes invalid.
INCORRECT OR INELIGIBILITY OF CLASS ENTRY
These will be disqualified from the class concerned - so always check with the Show Manager if in doubt
about which class to enter. If a breed number is changed officially, it is important that you notify the
Show Manager immediately. Exhibits entered into title classes must have qualified on or before the
published closing date of the show and the title must have been claimed in writing. Exhibitors who enter
title classes without claiming will be reminded once, but if the title remains unclaimed the cat will be
disqualified from this class at subsequent shows.
CATS REGISTERED ON THE REFERENCE REGISTER
No cat registered on this Register is eligible to be shown in competition and therefore these entries will
be disqualified.
The only exception to this is when a new breed becomes recognised; and then, cats of that breed may
be shown even if they are registered on the Reference Register as long as this was the only reason for
the Reference registration.
Exhibitors may appeal against any disqualification resulting from show checking, giving their reasons.
The appeal will be referred to the Executive Committee if considered valid and, if not, a letter of
explanation will be sent to the exhibitor(s).
The above advice, however, is aimed to keep your show entries trouble-free, not to mention the
show checking.
VETERINARY CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES
Exhibitors whose cats have been rejected at Shows please note the following points:
1.
When sending your Clearance Certificate to the Veterinary Officer please include your
copy of the rejection slip.
2.
Please DO NOT send these certificates by recorded delivery as this can cause
considerable delays in the receipt of your certificates. If you wish to satisfy yourself that
your letter has reached the Veterinary Officer please enclose a stamped, self-addressed
postcard for acknowledgement of receipt, and this will be signed and returned to you.
3.
Exhibitors should not attend Shows until they have received a letter from the Secretary
confirming clearance. It is recommended that this letter be taken to Shows within a
month of the issue of the clearance letter.
Please note that any person whose cats have been rejected under Sections C or D must not officiate as
a judge or steward or in any capacity which requires the handling of cats at shows until a clearance
certificate, as required by the GCCF, has been obtained.

Bringing precise, tailored
nutrition to cats everywhere.
No two cats are the same. They all have specific nutritional needs depending on size, breed, lifestyle
or at what age they are. So our products are different too by meeting the specific needs of individual
cats, all of which are the result of 45 years of expertise and know-how in health nutrition.
