BBC Children
in Need!
Friday 14th November 2014
Tom and Jerry
join Children in
Need line-up
THE biggest names in music and
entertainment are coming together for the annual BBC Children in
Need Appeal extravaganza next
Friday.
The glittering night will be live
from the home of EastEnders,
Albert Square, which will host big
name guests and show-stopping
performances.
Sir Terry Wogan, Tess Daly,
Fearne Cotton and Nick Grimshaw
will be joined by a new host for
BBC Children in Need, Saturdays
singer and presenter Rochelle
Humes. The fantastic five welcome an array of stars as they
join together to help raise money
for disadvantaged children and
young people across the UK.
A stand-out moment will come
from cartoon characters Tom
and Jerry who star in an exclusive cartoon made especially for
BBC Children in Need, alongside
the BBC’s biggest faces and bestloved shows as you’ve never seen
them before.
There’s a special treat in store
in Walford, as some famous faces
from EastEnders’ history return
to Albert Square in an exclusive
sketch featuring one character
being visited by some infamous
ghosts from their past.
Headlining is Gareth Malone
and his All-Star Choir, starring amongst others Jo Brand,
Mel Giedroyc and Craig RevelHorwood performing the official
BBC Children in Need single for
the first time on television; One
Direction; Cheryl FernandezVersini; The Script – who will be
performing in The Queen Vic –
Susan Boyle and Boyzone.
This year BBC Children in Need
puts the children into Strictly,
as Strictly Come Dancing hosts a
special performance featuring the
return of Sir Bruce Forsyth alongside Tess Daly as hosts. Four talented young ballroom champions
will be taking to the dancefloor
in teams alongside professional
dancers in a bid to win the Pudsey
glitterball trophy.
There will also be performances from West End hit musicals
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,
Made in Dagenham, Once and
Sunny Afternoon. Plus the cast
of EastEnders in a musical performance that will transform The
Square. Also helping out Pudsey
on the big night will be Doctor
Who and Call the Midwife.
Sir Terry Wogan, BBC Children
in Need life president, said: “It was
my privilege to present the very
first Children in Need in 1980 and
over the years it has truly become
the British public’s charity.
“Their extraordinary generosity has meant that their donations
of over £740 million have made a
real difference to the lives of this
country’s disadvantaged children
and young people. It’s an honour
and pleasure to be part of a great
charity and I am looking forward
to presenting an evening full of
entertainment with the usual suspects, Tess, Fearne, Nick and our
new host Rochelle.”
Rochelle said: “I’m so excited
and honoured to be asked to be
part of the presenting team for
BBC Children in Need this year.
“I hope everyone tunes in to
support this amazing cause and
really make a difference to children across all parts of the UK.”
Presenters Fearne Cotton, Rochelle Humes, Sir Terry Wogan, Nick Grimshaw and Tess Daly will lead the annual extravaganza.

Go BearFaced
to help Pudsey
BBC Children in Need has launched
its annual BearFaced campaign for the
third consecutive year.
The charity is asking women across
the UK to have a #BearFaced moment
to raise money simply by swapping
their make-up for a paw print.
TV favourites Lorraine Kelly and
Michelle Keegan and singer and
model Sophie Ellis-Bextor have
gone BearFaced in a make-up-free
photoshoot by world renowned
photographer Rankin to encourage
others to do the same.
The Pudsey Pawprints, as sported
by Lorraine Kelly (pictured), are
available exclusively at Boots.
This year, for the first time since
the campaign began, celebrities are
also being joined by women who
work in, or have been supported by
the project’s BBC Children in Need
fund. The project workers hail from
all corners of the UK and work on
schemes that make a difference to the
lives of disadvantaged children and
young people.
These eight women have become
advocates of the campaign, having
seen first-hand the difference the
money raised makes to young lives.
Participants are encouraged to
share their BearFaced moment at bbc.
co.uk/pudsey and be a part of the big
BearFaced selfie.
Sarah Monteith, director of
marketing and fundraising for BBC
Children in Need, said: “BBC Children
in Need is proud to be bringing back
BearFaced for its third consecutive
year and we are delighted that our
project workers have got involved this
year as well.
“It’s a great initiative that always
proves successful, it’s such a simple
way for women across the UK to get
involved and raise money for those
that need it most.”
ONE of the most hotly anticipated reunions of the last decade is
finally confirmed as S Club 7 are
to reunite and perform together
for the first time since 2003 on
the BBC Children in Need Appeal
show next Friday.
Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole,
Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo
O’Meara, Hannah Spearritt and
Rachel Stevens will perform a
medley of their greatest hits live
on the show for a UK TV audience of millions.
It will be a fitting return to
BBC Children in Need for the S
Clubbers; their single “Never Had
a Dream Come True” reached
number one in the UK in 2000 as
the official charity single for BBC
Children in Need, as well as becoming their first top 10 hit in the
United States.
A year later S Club 7 released
“Have You Ever”, their second
chart-topping single for BBC
Children in Need.
It was one of 11 hit singles, four
million selling albums, an internationally successful TV show,
feature film and many awards
won by the band during their five
years together.
The group said: “We’re massive fans of BBC Children in
Need and it was great to be able
to support the charity all those
years ago.
“We’re really looking forward
to bringing it all back for Pudsey,
for BBC Children in Need and
for all our fans who have been so
great over the years.
“This is going to be the mega S
Club party of all time!”
