Last Sunday, our congregation unanimously voted to begin construction. This has been a long journey, but praise the Lord we have finally made it to the point of construction. In just a few days, construction will begin on remodeling the Chapel area into Sunday School space for our senior adults. When that work has been completed, then the demolition of the old building and the construction of the new building will begin. It is exciting to see any church moving forward and making preparations for future generations! I thank God for your sweet spirit and your desire to always be a forward moving church. I believe that great days are ahead for First Baptist Church. Prayer is such an important ministry for any church. Let me encourage you to get involved in our prayer house ministry. You may sign up for a weekly time to participate in the prayer house by calling the church office. We are always in need of others to help with the prayer house ministry. I hope you will seriously consider helping in this ministry. I am looking forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day! Don Edmiston Minister of Education/Administration Spring is definitely in the air, which means spring fever is beginning to spread. It's always hard this time of the year to stay focused on work, school, or any indoor tasks. I can remember, as a kid, when school would begin to wind down for the summer, it became increasingly challenging to keep my focus on anything in the classroom (that may or may not have had anything to do with spring). I couldn't wait to turn in all my school books and jump off the bus on the last day of school. The summer plan I had developed was simple: have fun and forget about school. It is easy to get caught up in all our summer activities and find ourselves too busy for Sunday School and even worship. This summer, make plans to stay involved in Sunday School and worship. Perhaps you can encourage your Sunday School class to plan some special summer time activities to help keep everyone involved.
