We are seeking an Associate Pastor.
Our Mission and Vision
Our goal at Shelby Presbyterian Church is to fulfill our adopted mission
statement, “Jesus Christ is our host, who loves us into his family of faith, who
challenges us to become a community of service, who encourages us to
welcome the stranger in his name.”
We also strive to embody the principles of
our vision statement, “Growing as
disciples, serving the worldʼs needs, for the
glory of God,” which is referred to in the
daily life of our church as “Growing,
Praising, & Serving.”
Our challenge is to prayerfully achieve our
mission and vision statements, both
corporately and individually. We are a
church built on a strong history of
faithfulness to God, working daily to
expand our potential for giving and to
increase our commitment to serve Christ.
We endeavor to show our love and practice
Christian discipleship as we work for peace
and justice, both locally and globally.
Through the study of Scripture, we take
time to pray, be silent, and listen. We
continually encourage and commune with
each other, as guided by the Holy Spirit.
We are Shelby Presbyterian Church, proud of our rich history in our community,
while continually seeking new ways to grow, praise, and serve.

Our Church
At Shelby Presbyterian Church we
praise God through singing
hymns, reading scripture, and
proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. Our traditional worship
service is held in the sanctuary at
11:00 between September and
May.
We also offer a
contemporary service at 8:30
during these months in our
fellowship hall.
During the
summer months, our church comes together at 10:00 for a blended service in the
sanctuary that features aspects of both traditional and contemporary services.
Shelby Presbyterian Church serves Christ in a variety of ways in our community.
Our Food Ministry provides a meal to needy families every week. The Rainbow
Connection is a mission-based preschool that serves approximately 80 local
children.
Additionally, in 2008 our church became a Stephen Ministry
congregation. We currently have ten trained Stephen ministers and seven
Stephen leaders.
Our church provides a variety of ways for members to grow as disciples and
develop their spiritual gifts. We organize Bible studies and prayer trios during the
Advent and Lenten seasons. In addition, circles, Vacation Bible School, as well
as catechism and confirmation
classes provide congregants of all C u r r e n t S t a f f
ages with opportunities to grow in their
faith and learn about the Lord.

senior group, and our youth program offers members from all ages opportunities
to share in each other's lives and grow in their faith.
