This Trip Includes: All transportation to and from Kalamazoo, transportation
between Lawson Ice Arena and the hotel, a hotel room at the Hampton Inn & Suites
in Oshtemo on Friday and Saturday night (including a hot breakfast Saturday and

East Lansing in November was so much fun that we’re sponsoring one more bus
trip this season — Western Michigan in February, by popular demand! Cheer on the
Mavs as they finish out the CCHA season on the road. These four points may be
critical in securing home-ice advantage for the playoffs, so come prepared to cheer!
We’ll depart Omaha early (5:30 a.m.) Friday aboard an Arrow Stage Lines’
‘luxury motorcoach.’ As with all our previous trips, we’ll make some stops along the
way (and there is a restroom aboard the bus). I have paid the damage deposit to
allow alcohol, but please drink responsibly — and bring your own small cooler and
trash bag. We’ll also have on-board entertainment (trivia, movies, games, and fite
song practice). Please bring along your own pillow, blanket, earplugs, etc.
We’ll arrive at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Oshtemo/Kalamazoo in late
afternoon, so you’ll have time to grab a quick dinner, change clothes, and freshen up
before the game. The hotel is approximately six miles from Lawson Ice Arena, but is
close to several dining options, including Culver’s, Taco Bell, Wendy’s, and McDonalds.
It’s also a short walk to Twin Star Arena, which is hosting a youth hockey tournament
over the weekend. There’s a sports bar in the arena (Shanks on Ice – pictured on back).
More about the hotel: The Hampton Inn & Suites is a brand-new property,
built in 2003. Located at 5059 S. 9th Street in Oshtemo, it offers an indoor pool,
whirlpool, fitness room, and business center. It has high-speed Internet service (wired
access in rooms; wireless in the lobby) and a complimentary hot breakfast each day.
Room types: Rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Singles
($299 per person) or double occupancy travellers ($219 per person) can choose from
a non-smoking king room, or two queen beds (smoking or non-smoking). For triples,
we have a choice of a king (non-smoking) with a rollaway
or two queens (smoking or non-smoking – but no rollaway
with this option) for $189 per person, or a studio suite for
$199 per person (two queen beds with a pullout sofa sleeper
— these rooms also have a bar sink, microwave, and
refrigerator). A limited number of Jacuzzi suites may also be available.
Saturday, you’re “on your own” to explore Kalamazoo, or take in the youth
hockey tournament next door. The hotel will host a reception for us on Saturday
night. We will be staying overnight on Saturday, departing Kalamazoo Sunday
morning, and returning to Omaha by late evening Sunday.
Reservations are first-come, first-served, so please complete and return your
registration form as soon as possible with your $50 per person deposit. We need 40
reservations by Jan. 23 to make this a “go.” The balance is due no later than Feb. 10,
