SPECIAL EDITION
A MESSAGE FROM LESLIE MOONVES
It’s my pleasure once again to introduce this year’s edition of the CBS Annual Diversity
Report.
You will see illustrated in these pages examples of CBS’s strong commitment to diversity and
inclusion in all we do. We continue to benefit from great energy and enthusiasm towards
advancing our diversity initiatives across all divisions of the Company. This is only right,
because making CBS a truly diverse and inclusive place is a core business priority for us. As
you review the many and varied examples of diversity activities in this report, I believe you will
see 2015 was another important year in advancing our efforts. However, despite how far we have come, our
resolve must be stronger than ever to continue to do even better in the future.
This past year, our Diversity Council, which is made up of diversity champions who are employees from all corners
of CBS, hosted receptions to share and discuss our progress on both the East and West coasts. At these
gatherings we saw and heard great stories of progress fom employees across our many business units about the
initiatives that they feel are the most compelling as they move the diversity discussion forward. (I encourage you to
go to CBS’s Diversity site, where you can see some of these stories on video for yourself). Like all who attended, I
found these meetings both moving and enlightening, and I look forward to more of such events in the future. More
recently, our CBS Sourcing team hosted the 7th annual Supplier Diversity Outreach Event in Los Angeles, bringing together minority-owned entrepreneurs that seek to do business with CBS and other industry firms as we continue our efforts to grow the diversity of our supplier base. This year’s event featured Earvin “Magic” Johnson,
leader of our newest vendor, Sodexho/Magic, whose enterprise will begin providing cafeteria food service at CBS’s
Television City complex. Needless to say, Magic was quite inspiring, and it was gratifying to hear him speak to the
assembled group about CBS’s longstanding leadership in the area of supplier diversity.
These are just two examples of what’s going on throughout our Company. There are many more. Here, in this
annual Special Edition of CBS UPDATE, you will find selected examples of the outreach, networking, mentoring
and education programs launched and built upon across our Company in 2015. While by no means an all-inclusive
listing of our efforts, I couldn’t be prouder of how representative it is of the scope and seriousness of our commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion in everything we do, and I look forward to building on our progress in the
year ahead.
In closing, I want to thank Josie Thomas, our corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, who
throughout the year has done excellent work driving and coordinating so many of our efforts. Coupled with her
leadership, we are succeeding because so many of us are taking our role in building on diversity and inclusion at
CBS seriously. Only with a continual focus and the determination of all employees will we achieve the highest
levels of diversity representation in our workforce and diversity maturity in our workplace.
Leslie Moonves,
President and CEO, CBS Corporation

CBS DIVERSITY COUNCIL EXPANDS INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL OUTREACH
In continuing its efforts to strengthen the dialogue
across the Corporation around the topics of diversity
and inclusion, in October, the CBS Corporation
Diversity Council held special receptions in Los
Angeles and New York highlighting diversity initiatives
from across the company. Both gatherings were keynoted by CBS President and CEO Leslie Moonves. Noted
Josie Thomas, EVP and Chief Diversity Officer of
CBS Corporation: “The Diversity Council Receptions
in New York and Los Angeles not only provided
employees with an opportunity to hear about diversity
initiatives across the Company but these gatherings
also provided all of us with a terrific opportunity to network across
divisions.” For information on the new CBS Diversity Council High

The event featured an expo and targeted networking meetings between more than 30 minority-and women-owned suppliers
and representatives from CBS and other corporations including Disney, NBC/Comcast, Nielsen, TBWA and American
Airlines. In addition, Kevin Frazier, co-host of ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT, conducted a live interview with “Magic”
Johnson.

officially launched with Council members visiting both schools, with follow-up visits in November and December.
On both coasts the initiative is off to a great start. Says Jessica Arkin, College/School Counselor, High School for Environmental
Studies: “You have helped inspire our young people to reach for their dreams. We are delighted that CBS elected to form a
partnership with us and we thank you again for helping us prepare our students for college, career and citizenship.”
