We are thrilled to have so many talented area bands performing in today’s show. Four groups including the Athens Band Boosters, the Kiwanis Club of Athens, the Downtown Kiwanis Club, and the Chauncey-Dover Lions Club sponsor our Invitational. Many individuals from these four organizations have worked tirelessly over the past several months to provide competing bands with an enjoyable experience today. We especially want to thank Sue Carey and Cathy Cochran, the co-chairs of our Invitational committee for their work in organizing today’s event. The support of our band parents and community members has allowed our tradition of excellence in hosting this festival to continue throughout the years. In fact, the Athens Invitational Marching Festival is the fourth longest running festival in the state of Ohio! We wish the best of luck to all of the bands. May you have the best performance of the season thus far! To all the families, friends and other spectators, you are in store for a day of wonderful marching and music making. We hope you enjoy it! Sincerely, Sarah Labovitz and Brandon Lias Directors, Athens High School Band The Athens Invitational Marching Festival is a joint event sponsored by Athens Kiwanis Club, Downtown Kiwanis Club, Chauncey Dover Lions Club and the Athens High School Band Boosters.
