Much needed facility improvements were made this past summer with new carpeting and paint in our activity rooms. With partial support from the Helen McCalla Trust Fund, we purchased new senior friendly chairs, a projector, and a wide screen. A generous donation from St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea and Judith and Duane Newland provided us with comfortable arm chairs and a pool table for our new game room. With support from the school district and the library, we switched over to a faster and more accessible WiFi service. We were awarded a 2-year grant from Washtenaw Coordinated Funders for human services operations. We received a mini grant for MI Bridges Access and two of our staff are certified to help seniors apply for state benefits (e.g. Medicaid, food stamps, emergency relief). The Washtenaw County Consortium on Aging awarded us a small grant to provide free W.A.V.E. bus passes for local seniors.
