The Festival is based in Stavanger on the West Coast of Norway. Stavanger alongside London, Sao Paulo, Berlin and New York is regarded as a key city to visit for world class Street Art. Each September an invited international team of street artists start to leave their mark on the city’s walls, both indoor and out, creating one of Europe’s most dynamic and constantly evolving public art events. Stavanger is host to numerous public art works from some of the worlds leading names, names now commonly associated with such renowned institutions as The Museum of Contemporary Art , Los Angeles, Tate Modern, London and The Museum of Modern Art, New York. A stroll around the city centre will expose you to works from artists such as Swoon (USA), Evol (DE), Logan Hicks (USA), David Choe (USA), Blek Le Rat (FR), Nick Walker (UK) and many more. Whilst a short trip along Pedersgate to Tou Scene will enable you to really experience the full force of Nuart and this dynamic new movements form of public expression. This is by no means an in-exhaustive survey of the public art that Nuart have been responsible for placing on the city streets but is rather a guide to specific artworks and areas of interest. Keep your eyes open and you’ll no doubt stumble upon numerous other works during your tour. These tours offer locals and visitors to Stavanger an opportunity to get off the beaten track and explore the more hidden areas of interest in and around central Stavanger.
