The basicconstructionis timberframingwith corrugatedsheetingon the outsideto bothwallsand roots,withtimberpanelling internally, exposedtimbertrusses. For furtherdescrjptlonand hjstoryreferto the previousreport. 1.7 PlanningConsiderations: Location The churchis situatedin the centreof the villagealongthe mainroad,the siteareais some320 sg.m.Thesiteis notusedfor burials.Thechurchis neitherlistednotdoesit lie in a conservation areabutdueto the rarityof the building type"listing'maybe worthconsideration. Adiacentlanduseis mixedresidential/ commercial. 1.8 Access,seatingcapacityetc. Thereare pedestrian accessesto the south,car parkingon the adjacentroadonly. Seatingcapacityis some100,withdisabledWC anda tea kitchen. Thepremises arealsousedfor a localthriving youthclub. 2.0 MAINREPORT 2.1 L i m i t a t i o n s: The reportis restrictedto the generalconditionof the buildingand its defects.The inspection was visualfromtheground,aidedby binoculars. I havenot inspectedthe woodworkor otherpartsof the structurewhichare covered,unexposed, and I am thereforeunableto reportthat any suchpartof the propertyis freefrom or inaccessible defect. 2.2 Schedule of Workscompleted sincethe previousQuinquennial Report: ( Information fromTheLogBook,thisinspection obtained andinformation fromMr Allen Armstrong, Wardenemeritus) 2007 Re-wired,externalstorerepairedand re-roofed 2008 Mainswateranddrainageinstalled,rampandWC for the disabledformed. 2009 Kitcheninstalled,roofsheetingpainted 2010 Workto belltower(part) 2011 nil 2012 Brickplinthandtimberframingrepaired,sheetingat low levelreplaced, 2013-14 Minorrepairsonly : 2.3 GeneralGondition The buildingis generallyin a satisfactory stateof repair EXTERNAL 2.4 RoofCoverings: Corrugated steelsheeting,pressedsteelridgesandtrims,bitumenpainted. All in goodorderapartfromnaveridgewhichneedsadditional fixingat placesandtimberbarge boardswhichare rotting. 2.5 Rainwatergoods and disposalsystem BlackPVCguttersanddownpipes, castirondownpipe to south,allto soakaways only. GuttercrackedabovewindowlA2, downpipeR4 is lose. 2.6 Belowgrounddrainage Recently installed fouldrainageappearsadequate.2no inspection chambers notinspected. 2.7 Parapets.Upstandingwalls,Bellcote. Belltowerwasdamagedby highwindsbutis currenilyundergoing repair. 2.8 Walling The corrugated steelsheetingand bottomtrimat low levethasbeenrenewedrecenly,including repairsto the brickplinthand relevant timberframing.Thegalvanised sheetinghasbien also painted, Theoriginalsheetingabovethe renewedpartneedsre paintingin matchingpaint. Internally, thetimberframingis linedwitht>imberverticalboarding, stained. 2.9 TimberPorches,Doorsand Canopies: Timberdoors,all in goodorder.Theporchis of the sameconstruction as the restof the building but all sheetinghas beenrenewedthere. 2.10 Windows Fixedglazingtimberwindowsrequirerepairsto puttyglazingandtimberglazingbeads,including re-painting and repairsto sealantat frameand sheetingjunction. INTERNAL 2.11 Towersand Spires None 2.12 Clocksand their enclosures None 2.13 Roofand Ceilingvoids The spacebetweenthe roofsheetingandtimberboardingunderpurlinsis not insulated. Thereare no otherroofor ceilingvoids. 2.14 Roof Structures,Ceilingsand Geilures The naveroofis formedby exposedscissortypetimbertrussesand purlins,repairedby steel gussetsaftercollapseof partof the rootunderan exceptionally heavysnowfall.The purlins stained. arelinedwitht&g boarding, 2.15 UpperFloors,Balconies,Access Stairways . Tungsten halogenlightsgenerally. 2.28 Soundsystem 2no speakers, no reinforcement loopsystembut probablydue to the smallsize of the churchthis shouldnot be neoessary. 2.29 Lighteningconductor None. 2.30 Fire Precautions 1no2kg CO2at D3, 1no6L foamfire extinguisher at D7,lasttestedApril2015. DoorD2 markedup "FireExit"throughVestryis dead locked. Thereis a letterftom the Fire PreventionOfficerdatedJuly 2010 recommending an inspection but no reportwas on file. 2.31 DlsabledProvisionand Access ' DisabledWC is satisfactory,with levelaccessthroughout.Thereare 2 stepsto the altar. 2.32 Safety/ Security No problemswere reported,probablydue to the low valueof the extemalmaterialsand the well overlookedpositionof the Church. 2.33 Bats Noneobserved. 7 : CURTILAGE 2.34 Ghurchyard Wellkeptgrassedareas,no burials. 2.35 Ruins None 2.36Monuments,Tombs,and Vaults.
