Since the sale began 9 years ago, Sun Country has donated more than $100,000 to PARC. For more than five years, a growing number of older Gulfport residents have considered 2 p.m. on Fridays a very special time of the week. That’s when they meet for a free hour-long talk session at the Chat Room at the Gulfport Senior Center, 5501 57th St. S. The Chat Room is the creation of Carol Ehrenkranz. She works to stimulate the minds of those attending in various ways. She usually begins each session with a mind game, such as what several terms written on a marker board have in common. Most of the time, the correct answers come quickly. And everyone enjoys the challenges, and the friendship. ••• Dan Madine, left, chief operations officer from Sun Country Cleaners, presents PARC president and CEO Karen Higgins and PARC board member Bob Byelick with a check for $16,485.
