THE UCCELLO’S STORY
Faro Uccello was born & raised in Sicily, in the town of Partinico near Palermo. The story of
Uccello’s dates back to 1976, when the Uccello’s family moved to Michigan. In 1978, Faro Uccello
opened his first Faro’s Pizza shop in the Grand Rapids area. From this time to 1987, seven more
Faro’s Pizza locations were opened. In 1990, Faro sold the Faro’s Pizza locations & moved his
family back to Sicily and planned to remain in “The Old Country”. As it happens many times,
circumstances changed and the family moved back to Grand Rapids. In 1996, Faro was again in
the restaurant business when he opened the first Uccello’s Ristorante, Pizzeria & Sports Lounge
on the East Beltline in Grand Rapids. This location is where the “Sports Bar” concept took off!
In 2005, the opening of the Standale Uccello’s & the opening of the Caledonia Uccello’s made
for a very eventful year. In 2011 the Grandville Uccello’s was opened, and the Rockford Uccello’s
opened in the fall of 2014!
Faro always seems to have a project going. This fits perfectly with his personal philosophy to,
“Always strive to give your customer more than they would normally expect. Provide people the
opportunity to enjoy great food and the service to match. You must always strive to be better in
everything. And, never compromise on top quality in any area”.
With 5 locations in West Michigan, Uccello’s Ristorante, Pizzeria & Sports Lounge has something
for everyone. Open 11 am to 2 am everyday, Uccello’s offers a mouth watering combination for
lunch, happy hour, dinner, and late night hunger. Our kitchen stays open until 1:30 am for dine in,
