JuDGE
Ray M. Hershberger was born in Sacramento,
California, but has lived in Hampton Roads for
more than thirty years. He attended Clemson University and graduated with a B.F.A. from Old Dominion University. An award-winning artist, Ray
participated for many years in the local outdoor
art shows. He has been an art instructor for more
than twenty years and enjoys classes at various
levels of ages and skills. He also enjoys working
with and teaching a wide variety of media: oil
paint, acrylic paint, watercolor paint, drawing,
paper mache’, and clay.
Opening Reception
Awards will be given at the First Friday opening
reception on September 2, 2011 from 5:30 -7:30
pm at The Center. Please come and be our guest.
Entry
• Open to all artists 18 years of age or older.
• Entry Fee of $40.00 for AOA Patron or $50.00
for non-AOA Patrons will allow each artist to
display 2 two-dimensional works.
• Work must be original, entirely the work of the
single artist completed since October 2009 and
not previously exhibited in the AOA Gallery.
• Sculpture, photography, copies, mechanical
reproductions, computer generated or digitally
altered imagery will not be accepted.
• All work must be for sale and remain on display
through October 1. The AOA Gallery will retain
a 35% commission on all sales regardless of
volunteer status.
• Works must be received Friday, August 26th
between 10 am – 5:00 pm at The Center,
516 E Main Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
• Entries must be complete with entry form, entry
fee and painting tag attached to the back of each
painting. Inventory forms & W-9’s must be completed upon arrival.
• All works must be dry, framed, properly wired
and ready for hanging.
• Works shall not exceed 4 feet excluding frame.
• All monies are non-refundable.
• The Arts of the Albemarle reserves the right to
not display work deemed not in the best interest
of the Gallery. AOA will not be held responsible for loss or damage for any cause.
Pick-UP
All unsold work must be picked up the week of
October 11-15. Checks for works sold will be
issued no later than November 15, 2011.
