SCHOOL NEWS
Registration for new students at Immaculate Conception School begins this
week. If you are an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church and are
interested in enrolling your child in our school in grades PreK-8, please contact Mrs.
Mendoza in the school office, (928) 783-5225. Significant tuition scholarships are
available through AZ tax credit organizations. Teachers, parents, and students will
be available after Mass in the back of the Church to answer any questions you may
have. Stop and find out how accessible and affordable Catholic education is for
your child!
Calling all 3 and 4 year old preschoolers! After an incredibly successful
opening year with 17 students, Immaculate Conception School is beginning
Registration for the 2016-2017 school year in August. Mrs. Gregston, our PreK
teacher, and her assistants are returning! Immaculate Conception parishioners
receive first priority. Annual tuition for the full preschool is $495.00 per month and
is $395.00 per month for the half-day. Please contact the school at 783-5225 for
enrollment information.

THE ST. FRANCIS CHURCH ARCOIRIS YOUNG ADULTS GROUP invites all
teens ages 13-18 years old to its dance fundraiser on Friday, March 11. Come
dance the night away from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the St. Francis Parish hall. Entrance
fee is $5.00, and the dance is St. Patrick’s Day themed, so come dressed up in
green!

II COLLECTION NEXT WEEK
The Catholic Relief Services Collection funds six Catholic agencies that work to
serve our suffering brothers and sisters around the world. Through humanitarian aid,
resettling displaced individuals and families, and advocating on behalf of victims, the
Catholic Relief Services Collection allows us to see every encounter with a suffering
person as an opportunity to help Jesus in disguise.

The Jubilee of our
Diamond Celebration is here.
You are cordially invited to join the Clergy, Religious, and
Laity of Immaculate Conception Parish in celebrating 150 years of
the Catholic Faith in Yuma, Arizona. This special event, in addition
to celebrating our Faith, also recognizes and honors 100 years of
Catholic Education provided by the Sisters of St. Joseph of
Carondolet, the Sisters of Mercy, and the Franciscan Sisters of
Christian Charity to the people of Yuma County.
The 2016 main celebration will be Thursday, December 8,
2016 at 5:30 p.m. There will be no parking here at IC because the
north side and the Athletic Msgr. O’Keeffe Field will be used by
Bishops, Priests, Sisters, and handicapped, elderly and honorable
guests.
The south side will be used by school students, parish
staff, and faculty therefore additional parking will be at St. Francis
Parish and YCHS buses will be transporting people back and forth.
Our Parishioners will have priority. We will deliver invitations during
two consecutive Sundays in March during all the Masses starting
Palm Sunday.
Those who are willing to participate have to fill out a
registration form that will be inside the invitation and it has to be
returned into our Parish office ASAP, no later than June 30, 2016.
Once we organize the registrations, we will give you your tickets
guaranteeing your participation to this historic celebration. We will
have 5 colors of tickets that will indicate from where you will witness
this Historical Solemn Mass.

After the deadline June 30 we will open the invitation to
the Parishioners of all the Yuma County churches and to the
faculty, parents, and students of Yuma Catholic High School. So
please if you are planning to join us do so ASAP. It will be on a
“First Come, First Serve.” Only people with tickets will be allowed
to participate due to the shortage of limited space.

A traditional way to live Lent is to

Immaculate Conception Parish

Lenten mission on March 7th,
8th, and 9th
Fr. Jason Thuerauf will present the mission on the theme of
“Divine Mercy in our Souls”. The mission begins at 7:00 p.m.
each evening. Confessions will follow the Conference.

CURSILLOS IN CHRISTIANITY
Do you know someone looking for growth in their
Christian walk? If they are seeking a closer
relationship with God, please invite them to come
live the Cursillo experience. Cursillos in Christianity
will offer a 3-day short course in our Catholic faith
and our personal relationship with God. The
English Cursillo will be held at the St. John Neumann Centre, Yuma AZ,
June 16-19, 2016 for men and June 23–26, 2016 for women. There will
be an informational meeting at St. Francis School, Room 6, Monday,
