School News
Mrs. Wyant, our Music teacher, and the students at
Immaculate Conception School are busy preparing for the
Christmas musical, “The Day the Baby Jesus Came to
Town”, to be presented to school families and
parishioners on Tuesday, December 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the
main church. There will also be a dress rehearsal at 1:00
p.m. the same day if you prefer an earlier time in the day.
We invite you to attend!
The second collection next week is for the support of the school and religious
education programs in our Parish. Next Sunday will also be CTSO Sunday.
Students will share with you the difference you have made through your
contribution to CTSO. Please make your contribution by December 31, 2014.

The removal of the lower center sections of the bottom windows in the main
church is under consideration. Because of breakage and disintegration of the
paint on some of the windows, a safety hazard exists. If you or a family member
purchased one of these sections, please contact Kathy at 580-7948 for more

Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas will
conduct a listening session on Marriage and Family Life on
Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the
Yuma Catholic High School Cafeteria. Bishop Kicanas will
present some of the results of the Synod on the Family
held in Rome in October 2014 and will also invite
comments from parishioners about the topics discussed at
the synod. Among the areas to be discussed will be ways
to enrich your family life and how to strengthen your
marriage; areas of concern regarding divorce and remarriage, same sex
marriage, and cohabitation will also be discussed. All the Yuma/La Paz area are
welcome. Pope Francis has asked all local churches to discuss these issues.
Your comments are welcome. Thank you for taking an interest in this very
important topic.

The Franciscan Sisters invite all the groups from
the Parish (English and Spanish) to participate in the
entrance procession with their banner on Sunday,
December 7, at 11:30 a.m. There will be a brief practice
on Saturday, December 6, in the church at 9:15 a.m. If

Christmas Basket Raffle
Espiga Choir is raising money to buy a new
mixer. They are raffling off two Christmas
baskets for $1.00 a ticket. The winner will be
announced on December
11, 2014. Tickets are available at the
Parish office.
PARISH BOARD OF DIRECTOR
ELECTION The term of our current lay member to
the Parish Board of Directors, Stephen Irr, expires in
January 2015. Fr. Javier Perez has nominated
Stephen Irr for the approaching term. In addition to
Father’s nomination, registered members of the Parish
may submit names for this position by obtaining a total
of 10 registered member’s signatures and turning them
in to the Parish office. Nomination forms are available
in the Parish office. For more information about the
position and the eligibility requirements, please contact
the Parish office at (928) 782-7516. Nominations will
close on December 7, 2014. If more nominations are
submitted, a Parish election will be held on the
weekend of December 13 and 14, 2014.
Look around at our beautiful
Church—the stained glass windows, the
refinished pews, and the fresh paint. You, our
parishioners, are responsible for this. Your dollars,
time, talents, and, most of all, your prayers made
this happen. We now must keep it this way for
future generations. Father Javier has asked that
we no longer bring snacks, juices, or water or
pencils, crayons, and toys to Mass. These items
can easily scratch the pews and/or make a mess on
the floor. Sticky hands can also damage the finish
on our pews. And, please remove your gum before
entering the church. Sticking it under the pew is just
not acceptable. The volunteer cleaning people work
hard each Saturday to clean and prepare the
church for Sunday. Let’s work together to keep our
Church beautiful every day.

Como usted sabe, cada año se celebrará un aspecto diferente de la
Parroquia que culminará con una celebración en el año 2016. La cantidad
total en promesas hasta el día hoy es $264,125.10. El año pasado fue
dedicado a la Misión de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Les pedimos a
nuestros feligreses su apoyo a esta Campaña con el fin de recaudar los
fondos necesarios para este festejo. Si usted aún no ha hecho una promesa, por favor
considere hacer un regalo de sacrificio de $600 dólares por familia durante un periodo de tres
años. Puede obtener un sobre de compromiso a la salida de la Iglesia. Entregue su
compromiso en la oficina Parroquial.

El Coro “Espiga” estará vendiendo boletos para
recaudar fondos para comprar un mixer nuevo. El
coro rifara 2 canastas Navideñas.
El costo por boleto es $1.00 cada uno. La
rifa se llevara a cabo el 11 de Diciembre,
2014. Puede comprar su boletos en la
oficina Parroquial.
¡IMPORTANTE!
La Misa de 11:30 a.m. en la Misión será cancelada el Domingo, 7
de Diciembre. Habrá una Misa Trilingüe en la Inmaculada
Concepción a las 11:30 a.m. para celebrar el cierre del año de
nuestras Hermanas Franciscanas.
También la Misa de 1:00 p.m. de la Inmaculada Concepción el 14
de Diciembre será en la Misión de Guadalupe por la Kermes
Guadalupana (Solo por ese domingo)
La colecta de ropa de invierno y cobijas para obsequiar a nuestros hermanos campesinos en la fiesta anual que se
celebra en su honor el primer sábado de 6 de Diciembre en el parque Joe Orduno de la Amistad en San Luis, Az, Habrá
una caja a la entrada del templo de Inmaculada y también en la Misión de Guadalupe para que depositen su donación
(Se aceptan todas las tallas para hombres, mujeres y niños).
DIAMOND CELEBRATION
As you know, each calendar year from now through 2016 will emphasize a different aspect of our Parish. Last year was
dedicated to the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe; the various groups that were a part of the fabric of Our Lady of
Guadalupe were emphasized. This year is dedicated to the Franciscan Sisters. The year started on January 12 with a
Mass and reception. The history of the Sisters at I.C. was presented. Additional events are listed below. The total amount
of pledges to date is $264,125.10. We encourage our parishioners to support this campaign in order to raise the
necessary funds to continue this program through 2016. If you haven't made a pledge, please consider a sacrificial gift of
at least $600 per family over a three-year term. There will be envelopes available at each of the church exits. You can bring your commitment

on Sunday, December 7. This will be a trilingual Mass, English,
Spanish, and Filipino, at 11:30 a.m. at
Immaculate Concepcion Church. Please come and celebrate with us the
85 years of excellent service provided by the Franciscan Sisters.
