School News
The Immaculate Conception School Christmas musical is only four
weeks away! The Christmas musical will be performed on Tuesday,
December 16, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. for our school and parish community.
A dress rehearsal will be performed on that day at 1:00 p.m. for those
who prefer an earlier time.
Fresh Christmas wreaths and decoration items are still available from Forest Farms. If
you are interested, please check in the school office to see which items are available.
Items will arrive at the school the first week of December.
Immaculate Conception School will kick off the Year of the School on January 25, 2015
at the 11:30 a.m. Mass! We will be celebrating 85 Years of quality Catholic education.
We are currently compiling pictures and articles from alumni to create scrapbooks and a
PowerPoint presentation for an Open House reception following the Mass and the
unveiling of Monsignor O’Keeffe Athletic Field on January 25! Please scan and email to
[email protected] or stop by the school office so a copy can be made of your original
memorabilia. Thank you!
We are thankful for the many ways you support Immaculate Conception School. You
will be remembered this week in our prayers of thanksgiving. May you and your family
enjoy a very blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
The removal of the lower center sections of the bottom windows in the main
church is under consideration. Because of breakage and disintegration of the
paint on some of the windows, a safety hazard exists. If you or a family member
purchased one of these sections, please contact Kathy at 580-7948 for more
information.
THE YOUNG ADULT GROUP is conducting a car wash this Sunday, November
23 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Parish parking lot. It is to raise funs to help
immigrants who come from central America get with their families.

II COLLECTION TODAY
Next week’s collection is for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development
(CCHD). CCHD was founded to end the cycle of poverty throughout America by
funding organizations that help individuals help themselves and to defend human
dignity and to take poverty off the map. Please give generosity.
II COLLECTION NEXT WEEK. The II Collection next Sunday will be for the
support of our St. Vincent de Paul Society. Your generous contribution will keep
our less fortunate families from going hungry.

PARISH BOARD OF
DIRECTOR ELECTION
The term of our current lay member to the Parish Board of Directors,
Stephen Irr, expires in January 2015. Fr. Javier Perez has nominated
Stephen Irr for the approaching term. In addition to Father’s nomination,
registered members of the Parish may submit names for this position by
obtaining a total of 10 registered member’s signatures and turning them
in to the Parish office. Nomination forms are available in the Parish
office. For more information about the position and the eligibility
requirements, please contact the Parish office at (928) 782-7516.
Nominations will close on December 7, 2014. If more nominations are
submitted, a Parish election will be held on the weekend of December
13 and 14, 2014.

CURSILLOS IN CHRISTIANITY
Do you know someone looking for growth in their
Christian walk? If they are seeking a closer
relationship with God, please invite them to come
live the Cursillo experience. Cursillos in Christianity will offer a 3day short course in our Catholic faith and our personal relationship
with God. The English Cursillo will be held at the St. John
Neumann Center, Yuma, AZ on January 29 through February 1,
2015 for men and on February 5 through 8, 2015 for women.
There will an informational meeting at St. John Neumann, Fr. Friel
Center, Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. For more

Christmas Basket Raffle
Espiga Choir is raising money to by a new
mixer. They are raffling off two Christmas
baskets for $1.00 a ticket. The winner will be
announced on December
11, 2014. Tickets are available at the Parish office.

All parishioners are invited!
Look around at our beautiful Church—the stained glass windows, the refinished
pews, and the fresh paint. You, our parishioners, are responsible for this. Your dollars, time, talents, and,
most of all, your prayers made this happen. We now must keep it this way for future generations. Father
Javier has asked that we no longer bring snacks, juices or water or pencils, crayons, and toys to Mass.
These items can easily scratch the pews and/or make a mess on the floor. Sticky hands can also damage
the finish on our pews. And, please remove your gum before entering the church. Sticking it under the pew
is just not acceptable. The volunteer cleaning people work hard each Saturday to clean and prepare the
church for Sunday. Let’s work together to keep our Church beautiful every day.

CELEBRACION DIAMANTE
Como usted sabe, cada año se celebrará un aspecto diferente de la
Parroquia que culminará con una celebración en el año 2016. La cantidad
total en promesas hasta el día hoy es $264,125.10. El año pasado fue
dedicado a la Misión de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Les pedimos a
nuestros feligreses su apoyo a esta Campaña con el fin de recaudar los
fondos necesarios para este festejo. Si usted aún no ha hecho una promesa, por favor
considere hacer un regalo de sacrificio de $600 dólares por familia durante un periodo de tres
años. Puede obtener un sobre de compromiso a la salida de la Iglesia. Entregue su
compromiso en la oficina Parroquial.

La Colecta de hoy para la Campaña Católica para el Desarrollo Humano (CCHD)
necesita su ayuda. CCHD fue establecida para eliminar el ciclo de pobreza en los
Estados Unidos proporcionándole fondos a aquellos organizaciones que ayuden a
las personas a ayudarse a si mismas. Defienda la dignidad humana. Borre a la
pobreza del mapa. Por favor, contribuya a la colecta para CCHD.

DIAMOND CELEBRATION
As you know, each calendar year from now through 2016 will emphasize a different aspect of our Parish. Last year was
dedicated to the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe; the various groups that were a part of the fabric of Our Lady of
Guadalupe were emphasized. This year is dedicated to the Franciscan Sisters. The year started on January 12 with a
Mass and reception. The history of the Sisters at I.C. was presented. Additional events are listed below. The total amount
of pledges to date is $264,125.10. We encourage our parishioners to support this campaign in order to raise the
necessary funds to continue this program through 2016. If you haven't made a pledge, please consider a sacrificial gift of
at least $600 per family over a three-year term. There will be envelopes available at each of the church exits. You can bring your commitment
