STALLATION OF LIGHTS!
We can finally see some of the productivity of our Doors and Lights Project.
On February 16 and 17, the fluorescent fixtures in the church were removed and replaced with 14 new
church appropriate lights. We are
blessed with parishioners whose generosity has made this improvement possible.
As of today, $24,000 in donations has
been collected toward our original
campaign goal of $40,000. In order
to complete the project, the remaining
$16,000 must be collected. This money
will be used to replace spotlights with
energy efficient fixtures and bulbs.
When all of the church lighting has
been replaced, our parish will realize a
$3,600 yearly savings on our electric
bill. This alone is a great incentive to
finish the project.

Finalmente podemos ver alguna productividad de
nuestro Proyecto de Luces y Puertas. El 16 y 17 de
febrero, las luminarias fluorescentes en la iglesia
fueron eliminadas y reemplazadas con 14 nuevas
luces apropiadas para la iglesia. Estamos bendecidos con
feligreses cuya generosidad ha hecho posible esta mejora.

work would be seriously affected, the

Stewardship Thought for the Week
Today’s first and second readings are linked by the theme
of sacrifice. After Sarah and Abraham wait years to have
a child, God’s tests Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his
only son, Isaac. To encourage the Roman Christian community, St. Paul reminds his brothers and sisters in Christ that
God sacrificed His only Son for the good of all. In St.
Mark’s Gospel account of the Transfiguration, God clearly
acknowledges Jesus as His Son, and Jesus alludes to His
deathand Resurrection. Our own sacrifice of the “first
fruits” of our time, talent, and treasure to God through the
Church, and to our neighbor, are solid acts of Christian
charity. Sacrifice brings great peace and joy to those who
embrace stewardship as a way of life.
