HACE UN AÑO QUE YO TUBE UNA ILUSION
Muy queridos hermanos y hermanas en el Señor Resucitado que vive en medio de nuestro pueblo.
En este mes de Julio se cumple un año de mi llegada a esta amada Comunidad de Santa Cathalina de Alejandria en Temecula, California. Ha sido un tiempo de gracia y bendicion para mi persona y ministerio sacerdotal, el llegar a esta Parroquia y poner mi tienda en medio de sus casas y sus familias.
He sido bien recibido en nombre del que viene en el nombre del Señor, y no por mis meritos sino con
todos mis defectos y humanidad he escuchado en medio de las pruebas y difucultades como San Pablo: "te vasta
mi gracia" para seguir sierviendo al Señor con alegria el haber sido llamado a su servicio. Tambien este año he
recibido la bendicion de mi ciudadania americana, la cual no solo me da derechos como un hijo adoptivo de esta
patria, sino tambien obligaciones como ciudadano que hay que observar. Otra gracia especial que recibire en este
proximo septiembre, sera llegar a cumplir mis primeros 50 años de vida, pido a Dios me conceda salud para servir con mas generosidad y me encomiendo a sus oraciones para que dia a dia me vaya santificando en esta vida
que Dios me ha dado.
Estas y muchas otras bendiciones he recidibo de lo alto, como haberlos conocido, gracias por ser dociles
a la voz del Espiritu de Dios, gracias por su amistad y cariño, gracias por abirme las puertas de su casa y sobre
todo de su corazon.
Pido a Dios que en este proximo año pastoral que iniciemos juntos el cual estara marcado por el Año
Santo de la Misericordia, aprendamos a ser misericordiosos como nuestro Padre celestial es misericordioso y superemos toda adversidad que se presente y alcanzemos de Dios sus gracias y bendiciones para seguir caminando
hacia el encuentro definitivo con el Padre de la Misericordia.
Sin mas que agradecer a Dios, al Padre Anhony Dao, nuestros Diaconos, Staff Parroquial y a cada uno de
ustedes mis hermanos en la fe por todo su cariño y aprecio, sus consejos y sobre todo su paciencia para conmigo,

What does the Church say about Social Justice?
Catholic social teaching comes from the Gospels and the words and works of Christ himself. Social Justice is central to our
faith, and is based on our concept of human life and dignity. The words of Christ are carried on through papal statements
and encyclicals, and Catholic bishops’ statements and pastoral letters. Social Justice calls all of us to work for the common
good, to help build a just society, to uphold the dignity of human life and lift up our poor and helpless brothers and sisters.
There are the seven themes of Catholic social teaching.
1.
LIFE AND DIGNITY OF THE HUMAN PERSON
Every human person is created in the image and likeness of God. Therefore, every person’s life and dignity must be respected and supported from conception through natural death. We believe that the measure of every institution is whether it
threatens or enhances the life and dignity of the human person.
2.
CALL TO FAMILY, COMMUNITY AND PARTICIPATION
The human person is not only sacred, but social. We simply want to be with other people. How we organize our society
— socially, economically, legally and politically — directly affects human dignity and the ability of every human person to
grow in community. Marriage and family, which is the foundation for social life, should be strengthened and supported.
Every person has a right to participate in society and a corresponding duty to work for the advancement of the common
good and the well-being of all.
3.SOLIDARITY
We are one human family. We are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they may be. Loving our neighbor has global
dimensions. At the core of the virtue of solidarity is the pursuit of justice and peace. Our love for all of our brothers and
sisters calls us to seek a peaceful and just society where goods are distributed fairly, opportunity is promoted equally and
the dignity of all is respected.
4.
DIGNITY OF WORK
The economy must serve people, not the other way around. Work is more than a way to make a living; it is a form of continuing participation in God’s creation. To uphold the dignity of work, the basic rights of workers must be respected — the
right to productive work, to organize, and to receive fair and livable wages.
5.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Every person has a fundamental right to life — the right that makes all other rights possible. Each person also has a right to
the conditions for living a decent life — food, health care, housing, education and employment. We have a corresponding
duty to secure and respect these rights for others and to fulfill our responsibilities to our families, to each other and to our
larger society.
6.
OPTION FOR THE POOR AND VULNERABLE
Scripture teaches that God has a special concern for the poor and vulnerable. The church calls on all of us to put the needs
of the poor and vulnerable first. This preferential option for the poor and vulnerable should be reflected in both our daily
lives and public policies. A fundamental measure of our society is how we care for and stand with our poor and vulnerable
brothers and sisters.
7.
CARE FOR GOD’S CREATION
The world that God created has been entrusted to all of us. Our stewardship of the earth is a form of participation in God’s
act of creating and sustaining the world. In our use of creation, we must be guided by a concern for generations to come.
We show our respect for the Creator by our care for creation.
In a world of materialism and declining respect for human life, the Catholic Church proclaims that human life is sacred
and that the dignity of the person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. Our belief in the sanctity of human life

¿Qué dice la Iglesia sobre la justicia social?
La enseñanza social católica proviene de los Evangelios y las palabras y obras de Cristo mismo. Justicia social es central
para nuestra fe, y se basa en nuestro concepto de la vida y la dignidad humanas. Las palabras de Cristo son llevadas a través
de declaraciones papales y encíclicas, y las declaraciones de los obispos católicos y cartas pastorales. Justicia Social nos
llama a todos a trabajar por el bien común, para ayudar a construir una sociedad justa, para defender la dignidad de la vida
humana y elevar nuestros hermanos y hermanas pobres y desvalidos.
Ahí están los siete temas de la enseñanza social católica.
1. LA VIDA Y LA DIGNIDAD DE LA PERSONA HUMANA
Toda persona humana es creada a imagen y semejanza de Dios. Por lo tanto, la vida y la dignidad de cada persona deben
ser respetados y apoyados desde la concepción hasta la muerte natural. Creemos que la medida de cada institución es si
amenaza o mejora la vida y la dignidad de la persona humana.
2. LLAMADO A LA FAMILIA, COMUNIDAD Y PARTICIPACIÓN
La persona humana no sólo es sagrada, sino social. Simplemente queremos estar con otras personas. ¿Cómo organizamos
nuestra sociedad - social, económica, jurídica y políticamente - afecta directamente a la dignidad humana y la capacidad de
toda persona humana a crecer en comunidad. El matrimonio y la familia, que es el fundamento de la vida social, deben ser
fortalecidas y apoyadas. Toda persona tiene derecho a participar en la sociedad y un deber que corresponde a trabajar para
la promoción del bien común y el bienestar de todos.
3. SOLIDARIDAD
Somos una sola familia humana. Somos nuestros hermanos y hermanas guardianes, dondequiera que se encuentren. Amar
a nuestro prójimo tiene dimensiones globales. En el núcleo de la virtud de la solidaridad es la búsqueda de la justicia y la
paz. Nuestro amor por todos nuestros hermanos y hermanas nos llama a buscar una sociedad pacífica y justa, donde se
distribuyen los bienes de manera justa, la oportunidad es promovido por igual y se respete la dignidad de todos.
4. LA DIGNIDAD DEL TRABAJO
La economía debe servir a la gente, y no al revés. El trabajo es más que una manera de ganarse la vida; es una forma de participación continua en la creación de Dios. Para defender la dignidad del trabajo, los derechos básicos de los trabajadores
deben ser respetados - el derecho a un trabajo productivo, para organizar y recibir un salario justo y habitables.
5. DERECHOS Y RESPONSABILIDADES
Toda persona tiene el derecho fundamental a la vida - el derecho que hace posible todos los demás derechos. Cada persona
también tiene derecho a las condiciones para vivir una vida decente - alimentación, salud, vivienda, educación y empleo.
Tenemos el deber correspondiente para asegurar y respetar estos derechos para los demás y para cumplir con nuestras
responsabilidades para con nuestras familias, entre sí y con nuestra sociedad en general.
6. Opción por los pobres y vulnerables
Escritura enseña que Dios tiene una preocupación especial por los pobres y vulnerables. Las llamadas de la iglesia en todos
nosotros para poner las necesidades de los pobres y vulnerables primero. Esta opción preferencial por los pobres y vulnerables debe reflejarse tanto en nuestra vida cotidiana y las políticas públicas. Una medida fundamental de nuestra sociedad es
cómo cuidamos y mantenemos con nuestros hermanos y hermanas pobres y vulnerables.
7. ATENCIÓN A LA CREACIÓN DE DIOS
El mundo que Dios creó ha sido confiado a todos nosotros. Nuestra administración de la tierra es una forma de participación en el acto de crear y sostener el mundo de Dios. En nuestro uso de la creación, debemos guiarnos por una preocupación para las generaciones venideras. Mostramos nuestro respeto por el Creador por nuestro cuidado de la creación.
En un mundo de materialismo y la disminución de respeto por la vida humana, la Iglesia Católica proclama que la vida
humana es sagrada y que la dignidad de la persona es el fundamento de una visión moral de la sociedad. Nuestra creencia
en la santidad de la vida humana y la dignidad inherente a la persona humana es el fundamento de todos los principios de

Reflecting on God’s Word
Traveling by plane these days calls for careful preparation. One
airline recently posted notice that if your bag weighs more than fifty
pounds, there is an additional fee of fifty dollars. Add in the restrictions on carry-on baggage: no liquids more than three ounces, no
bags beyond a certain size. It encourages you to travel light.
Jesus is issuing his own travel instructions to those he chose to work
with him. First, he gives them “authority over unclean spirits” (Mark
6:7), a sharing in the authority the Father has given him for the work
of spreading the gospel that the reign of evil is over and the reign of
God is beginning.
Then, Jesus gets practical: Take nothing but a walking stick—to be
used in climbing hills, driving off wild animals, or pushing away
snakes found on the paths. No food, no sack to hold extra clothing—
not even a second tunic—or to carry off anything from the towns you
visit, and no money! Permission granted to wear sandals.
Finally, when you get to a place, do not look for the most comfortable lodging, take what comes first and be content there. The focus
is clear: Stay on message—God’s kingdom is at hand. Repent and
believe. And show it in action: Deliver the sick and possessed from
what burdens them. If people don’t like the message? Move on.

last word, and that all creation finds its deepest meaning in Christ.
