Troncones Point Hostel
Troncones Point Hostel is a great hostel right in front of Troncones Point, a great left reef break. With our
composting toilets and solar panel system we try to make a difference for the world.
Troncones Point Hostel is designed to coexist with nature and is surrounded by tropical landscaping and the best
270° view in town.
About 30 KM norh of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s gorgeous Pacific Coast, there is a small gathering of surf
spots called “ondas hermosas” or “beautiful waves”. The Troncones Point Hostel is located in the heart of this area
removed from the tourist hustle and just steps from the ocean. Like the locale, our Hostel has a relaxed, laid back
natural atmosphere, but also offers state-of-the art amenities and full-service comfort in an eco-friendly
environment. Book a few days with us and you will discover that beautiful experiences in life don’t need to be
expensive and over-crowded.

Surf conditions in the area
Troncones Point: This is a left-point break off a rocky stretch, directly in front of the hostel. Depth is about 6-10 feet
at different points in the line-up and gets shallower in moderate range to the beach. There are some hazards to be
aware of, so initial guidance from a seasoned rider would probably be helpful. Also, if you’re not opposed to booties,
it’s a good idea to wear them.
La Boca: This is a river mouth north of the hostel that boasts great lefts and rights during the High Season (Nov. –
Mar). La Boca is accessible by foot or 4x4; walking, follow the sandy beach about a half-mile past Playa Kandahar;
driving, 4x4 down the beach past the village of Majahua.
La Saladita: This spot is located off a point, with incredible, never-ending lefts; appropriately, it’s locally known as
“The Wave Machine." It’s a long paddle, but a long ride. From the Hostel, it’s an easy 30-minute drive north through
the village of Los Llanos.
The Ranch: This area has hard, fast lefts and rights off a point. It’s accessible by car and panga (guided surf boat);
the drive is north just over an hour, the boat ride is about one-half hour (the boat will stop at La Saladita on the
