The newest locations: at the Gathering, Forest/Wing, Harvey/Wing, and at the Post Office on Penniman. Here’s a link to the Bicycle Parking Map from our website downtownplymouth.org http://downtownplymouth.org/DocumentCenter/View/358 www.downtownplymouth.org Downtown Plymouth Weekly Update PLYMOUTH DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY www.downtownplymouth.org Downtown Plymouth Weekly Update PLYMOUTH DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY Celebrating Bikes, Books and the New Entrance of the Library The public is invited to the Plymouth District Library on Saturday, July 16 at 11 a.m. for a community celebration. Joined by the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce, the library will conduct a ribbon-cutting celebration, wrapping up 18 months of building repair. All bike riders will be introduced to the new bike Fixit – a self-serve bike repair station. The Fixit, one of only a few at libraries around the country, includes all the tools necessary to perform basic bike repairs and maintenance, from changing a flat tire to adjusting brakes and derailleurs. The Fixit will be located near the library’s bike racks, just steps from the main entrance. This unique equipment was made possible through the generous contributions of the Plymouth Lions Club and local landscape design firm, Serene Landscape Group. Also on hand will be members of the Ann Arbor Bicycle Touring Society, who will provide how-to demonstrations with the Fixit. The AABTS organizes daily group rides for road and mountain bike enthusiasts and regularly meets near the library to kick off area rides. For additional information visit http://aabts.org Following the ribbon-cutting, children will enjoy making a personalized license plate for their bikes and light refreshments inside. The popular used -book sale by the Friends of the Plymouth District Library will offer great book bargains for readers of all ages. Entertainment by harpist Brittany DeYoung will round out the event. “Plymouth is a town of bikes, babies and dogs, “ explained Carol Souchock, Library Director. “Our bike racks are busy - almost year round. This is a perfect way for us to serve the folks coming to the library and into downtown.
