We unfortunately see the milking from cow, stock
and transportation done very carelessly. Especially
milking is seen like an ordinary farm job and who
does milking has lack of information about this subject.
Whereas, the future, economy and the health of
your cows depends on milking hygiene. Who does
milking must be trained and inspected, starting
with washing hands, how to treat cows, what to
carefully do in which phase and where to use which
disinfectant.
What we see mostly is, these staff never be taught
about these subjects. Otherwise, mastisis will be
out of control in the herd, very expensive milking
machines will broke and unfortunetly company will
dissatisfy the owner.

Introduction
Today, depending on the increasing environmental problems, bacterial and viral dieases, its essential to importance of food safety
precaution to protect foods and animals health whichs put under more risk each passing day.
Such as healthy food of animal origin can be obtained from healthy animals; protecting animal health, depends on healthy environment
and precautions of suitable cleaning, disinfection and sanitation.
The phrase that EU especially dwell on “From farm to table food safety”;
can be defined as precautions of total physical, chemical, biologic and all kind of damage could result in foods.
One of the most important food of animal origin, milk, includes more than 40 defined nutrients includes high levels of protein, fat and
carbonhydrate. With these characteristics milk is a sensitive habitat for harmful bacterias could reproduce easily.
Quality of the milk determined by solids, fat ratio and somatic cell count (body cell and exisitnce of bacteria).
Less count somatic cells of milk means clean, better quality and long shelf age milk.
This should be known very well that, large number of somatic cells is not just a problem of milk industry, but also a closely related
problem of milk producers.
The large number of somatic cells, actually points attacks of microbes that harms udder tissue. Existince of abnormal large number
of somatic cells and bacteria points mastitis, especially, mastisis that undetected but cause serious loss of subclinic (asymptomatic)
efficency.
If your milk’s somatic cells number is low (below 100.000), then you are sure of your cows, there is no mastisis and your milk is clean.
But if somatic cells are large in number, this means, undetected mastisis causing loss of efficency and your herd confronted with serious danger of contaminating infection danger. Main events of the mastisis cause by the microbes that enter the udder through the
teat hole and harms the udder tissue. This sometimes happen right after milking, when you remove your cows to dry off, before birth
or in the any stage of lactation but absolutely cause at any stage of negligence to teat or milking equipments. The germs, breeding in
accumulated milk on the unwell cleaned clusters, cause to mastisise the udder during
milking process. Mastisis is; an expensive, troublesome, difficult and hard to cure disease. Dont forget, 30% of the cows disposal,
because of mastisis.
Three basic rules must be complied while milking;
Preparing the cow for milking and stimulate the udder for let down the milk,

WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN WHICH STAGE OF MILKING?
1- Before milking:
Milker; must wet his/her hands with water first, then fully foam with Dezinfex Hand Wash creamy hand
soap and during 10 secs rub the nails and between fingers including top of hands. Then rinse with plenty
of water and dry. Disinfect the boots and apron with Dezinfex Doxi 351.
Order of milking must be arranged: Regardless of housing system or herd size, milk first calf heifers,
fresh cows next and then the main herd. Milk sick cows last then wash and sanitize the milking system.
Mastisis Check: Make sure the milking equipments are ready and clean. Especially prepare Masdisin Teat
Foam teat cleaning foam, moist and dry towels that will use at milking.
Dip each teat with Masdisin Teat Foam to make sure teats are clean, moist and clean because they are
very vulnarable to microbes.
After dipping into foam, dry the teats with dry towel or nepkin. Wet teats cause dislocation, slip or squeeze
of milking clusters during milking process.
Foremilk Cows: Allows to control of milk and udder.
Must prepare a Milking protocol that all milkers can easily understand in farm.
2- During Milking
Check Milking System: Always check the vacuum level at the beginning of each milking. There should not
be any leaks. Prevent any stress during milking that will effect milking process.
Before you swap milking clusters from one cow to other, make sure you disinfect them while dipping them
all into disinfected water (Dezinfex Doxi 351).
Check the udders through end of milking process to make sure they are emptied properly. Prevent over
milking. If the milking sysem is not automated, dont remove milking clusters while teats are under vacuuming.
3. After Milking (Very Important)
With the finish of the milking, very critical process starts in terms of mastisis. Because, teat holes remain
open about 30 mins after milking. In this time, bacteries find a suitable environment to get in the udder.
Teat Dipping: After milking, sealing the teats with Masdisin Herbafilm disinfector very effective to prevent
from udder infections.
Always feeding must be done after milking.
Aftermilking, Masdisin Herbafilm removes suitable environment for bacteries and purify microbes. Creates a Antideptic film on the teats and plug the teat hole for microbes. Masdisin Herbafilm lasts longer
and soften the udder skin.
Clean and disinfect milking system and all of the milking equipments immediately after milking.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTION OF MILKING SYSTEM
External cleaning of milking system:
mmediately after milking, clean the milking clusters, pipes and external parts with Dezinfex FALKA Ultra
335 foam then put jetter on milking clusters and take off filters.
Prewashing of milking parts: Prewashing must do with warm water (approximately 40 C – 50 C). If the
water is cold (below 35 C), cyrstallizes the milk fat and becomes fat layer on the parts.
If the water is hot (above 50 C), decompositizes the protein and becomes protein layers on the parts and
cause difficulties to washing. Warm water helps the heating of parts for main washing. Cold advised products must rinse with cold water.
Main Washing: Water temperature 55 C – 60 C are ideal. Because of the coldness of system pipes, first
entered water could be a bit hotter but should not be above 70 C otherwise proteins cook and not able to
clean properly. For an efficient cleanig,
flow rate should not be less than 1.5m/sec. The air entered to system cause turbulence and rubbing effect
that increase washing quality. Process of washing must be between 10 mins – 15 mins. If it gets longer,
water cools and oil collapse on the surface.
Low-faoming alkali chlorined Dezinfex CHLR 305 or Dezinfex CHLR Plus 306 can be advised for main
washing.
While these cleaners cleaning the environment with their alkali content , they disinfect the bacteries with
their chlorine content. The alkali detergens in this products, dissolve the fat, protein and carbonhydrates;
the chlorine corrupts the structure of protein and prevents filmwise fat on the surface. Washing process
can be done with chlorine – free alkali cleaners as well (Dezinfex ALKA 320 or Dezinfex ALKA Plus 321)
The important point must be known in here is; bacteries can only breed in organic (protein, fat, carbonhydrate) dirty environments. When the cleaning done with chlorine – free alkali cleaners, there wont be any
dirt so that bacteries cant feed and breed. But, for full system cleaning using Dezinfex Doxi 351 is advised.
Rinse
Right after alkali washing, system must rinse with water. According to the hardness of the used water, 1-3
times in a week system rinse, alkali rinse then washing with acid (Dezinfex DAcid 340) are essential to
protect againist galactite and limestone. At least 5 mins – 10 mins with warm water (40 C – 45 C)
is advised.
One of the most important point must known that, Dezinfex DAcid 340 is a acid based product and cant
clean oil, dirt and protein residues. Washing with acid is only for galactite and limestone residues. Because of includes acid there is a belief that its very powerful and use instead alkali but this is very wrong
cleaning method. Because of that the path needs to follow is, wash the system with an alkali cleaner after
prewashing then rinse again and wash with Dezinfex DAcid 340 then rinse again.
Final Rinse
Then again system must rinse again for finally. Water tanks must clean similarly. The tanks are not CIP;
must be cleaned from inside by getting into.

CLEANING OF PORTABLE MILKING CARS
In our country, the cleaning of portable milking cars either doing not
enough or not known well. Sometimes the parts remowe and fit with
wrong methods or clean with household detergents. This situation causes,
machines malfunction quickly, milk becomes poor of quality, septic, sour
and machines that host microbs make sick of animals.
Portable milking cars must clean with proper disinfectant as recommended below.
After milking with portable milking car, for each cluster for all kinds of
washing must calculate 10 liters water. First must prewash the chunk and
last must rinse with the water left in the chunk.
Then main wash. For each cluster 10 liter water and half tea glass of Dezinfex 305 or Dezinfex 306 (If the chunk made of aliminum, use Dezinfex
ALKA 320) must prepare in a container. Dip the clusters into this container
and vacuum the water to chunk. Rinse the chunk and put the water back
to container. Do this 2-3 times. Rinsing like this increases the effect of
cleaning. Then make the final rinse with clean water.
Should follow process sequence from pictures on the right side.
Other milking rules must be obeyed as same as mentioned above. The
external cleaning of clusters and chunk can be done with alkali foam of
Dezinfex FALKA ultra 335.

An alkali based concentrated liquid detergent includes chlorine and has low foam, specifically designed for cleaning CIP and Manuel Milking Systems.
Usage Areas: Designed for cleaning and providing hygiene for milking systems and machines, filters, cooling tanks, pipes, brushes and all kind of residuals.

Phosphoric Acid based, highly concentrated long cling foam detergent. Easily removes limescales, protein, mineral, water and salt residues from stainless surfaces
and all equipments.
Usage Areas: Designed for cleaning and providing hygiene for especially stainless
surfaces of milking systems and their equipments, seramic surfaces. It should be
used with care on the unknown surfaces, could damage them.
•Includes Phosphoric Acid < 40% foam maker surfactant agents (Surfactants),
surface protectors and chelating agents to maintain the effectiveness of hard water.
•No Nitric Acid.

Dezinfex FALKA Ultra 335
Intensive alkali based long cling foam concentrated liquid detergent for manuel
cleaning of bulk tanks, milk silos, farm equipments, surfaces of milking clusters,
pipes and other equipments.
Usage Areas: Designed for cleaning and providing hygiene for surface and all public
areas require foamed cleaning such as bulk tanks, milk silos, farm equipments, surfaces of milking clusters, pipes and other equipments.
•Includes Sodium Hydroxide < 40% foam maker surfactant agents (Surfactants), surface protectors and chelating agents to maintain
the effectiveness of hard water.
•No Chlorine, Nitrate and Phosphate.
•Transparent colored solution.
•pH 12 – 13.
Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. Wet and clean the rough dirt with hot water (50 – 60 C)and soak the surface.
Usage and Dosage: Dezinfex Falka Ultra 335 must be diluted in to water by 1 to 4 (1 or 4 teaglass for 10 liters of water). For pressured
machines usage rate must be less than 2-3%. Especially apply with foaming machine and spray on the surfaces then wait 10 – 15
minutes, results will be quite effective. Use sponge or brush for manuel applications and foam the surfaces to clean fats, dirts and
residues. Using hot water is recommended to get best results (water must not be hooter than 70 C)

An alkali based liquid detergent has high bubbling foam; suitable for cold water and
hot water cleaning technics, includes chlorine, specifically designed for cleaning and
hygiene the public areas, surfaces of integrated milking systems, milk tanks, milking clusters and equipments.
Usage Areas: Designed for cleaning and providing hygiene for surface of all public
areas require foamed cleaning such as bulk tanks, milk silos, farm equipments, surfaces of milking clusters, pipes, walls and ground of farms.
•Includes Sodium Hydroxide < 15% Sodium Hypochlorite < 15% foaming surfactant agents (Surfactants)], surface protectors and chelating agents to maintain the effectiveness of hard water.
•pH 12 – 13.
Usage and Dosage: Dezinfex DCLR 337 must be diluted in to water by 1 to 2% (1 or 2 teaglass for 10 liters of water ). For pressured machines usage rate must be less than 2-3%. Especially apply with foaming machine and spray on the surfaces then wait 10 – 15 minutes,
results will be quite effective. Use sponge or brush for manuel applications and foam the surfaces to clean fats, dirts and residues.
Using hot water is recommended to get best results (water must not be hooter than 70 C)

Dezinfex DAcid 340
Phosphoric Acid based, low level foam detergent suitable for CIP and manuel milking systems. Milk based residues are not able to remove with Alkali based cleaners,
Dezinfex DAcid 340; Phosphoric Acid based, nature friendly cleaner.Nitric Acid based
products extensively use in the farms. Nitric Acid harms the stainless steel surfaces
and nature.
Usage Areas: Designed for cleaning and providing hygiene for portable milking machines, milk containers and especially for surfaces contact with milk, stainless steel
surfaces and milk residuals. Do not use on surfaces. Use carefully on an unknown
surfaces.
Includes 15% Phosphoric Acid < 45% foaming surfactant agents (Surfactants)], surface protectors and chelating agents to maintain the effectiveness of hard water.
No Nitric Acid.
Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. Dezinfex Dacid 340 is an acid phosphoric acid based product and does not cleans fat, dirt
and protein residues. This product only for cleaning galactite and mineral residues. Using instead of Alkali based products is wrong.
First prewash the system then wash with alkali based cleaners and rinse, and then wash with Sezinfex DAcid 340 recommended.
Cleaning of Portable Milking Machines: After washing each milking cluster with at least 10 liters of water, should wash 2-3 times with
alkali based cleaners and rinse recommended. After washing with 4- 5 times with alkali based cleaners, dilute ½ teaglass of Dezinfex
DAcid 340 into 10 liters of water circulate 2 – 3 times. Then rinse with cold water.

Masdisin Dry-Off
Introduction
It is desirable to have one cow calf from each cow in stock farming. The researches that have been done show; milking
10 months and dry – off 2 months is the best way to get highest benefit from cows.
Dry – off Methods:
•Its advised to dry – off the cows immediately that their milks decreased. However it seems hard but, it is specified by
experts that, its the best way to protect cows from mastisis.
•For dry – off the cows with high milk yield, reducing the concentrated feed and water from 2 weeks – 3 weeks earlier,
reducing the number of milking and finally stopping the milking is a kind of way. Left over milk in the udder does nor
harm the animal. All the milk should be milked from udder and never leave milk during milking process.
After dry – off udder swells, internall pressure increases, reddens and cause some pain to cow but udder should not
milk anymore, if udder get milked; mammary glands could be stimulated for producing milk and this will increase risk

Background Everything was started before BC 8000-9000 by mankind who wanted to get 1-2lt cow`s milk which was produced only for her baby around mesopotamia (South East Turkey and around Syria) and North East Africa (in our century known as Sudan) . After that cattle became a tame animal
followed by sheeps and goats and all other animals.
Animal Being Tamed
Civilization tried many different methods to increase daily milk production which was only 1-2kg at that time and to reach 2-3kg weight gain. Some
of those methods were pure raising, relative raising, mixing the race, improved race mixed, combination of race mixed and rotated race mixed.
Importance of feeding animals:
Advanced feeding and better caring for animals are essential as well as methods of domestication to increase animal production in any way (milk,
meat, strength, wool)
Animals require extra nutrients such as energy, vitamin, mineral to increase 1 kg milk production or 1 kg weight gain or perfect fertility. Animals
take most of the nutrients from feed. However, their mineral requirements always higher than feed.
Please see from the above table nutrient and minerals requirements of cows who produce 30-40 lt milk.
Why are trace elements important ? Trace elements are essential components of an animal’s diet required for a range of metabolic and physiological processes. They are active role in
synthesis of hormones and into the structure of some enzymes or check their functioning due to the amount of work in the ration (the animal’s daily
feed) must be found. Severe deficiency of one element can cause a clinical condition (e.g. Selenium and White muscle disease/muscular dystrophy;
Copper and Swayback etc.). More often, the effect of a deficit is insidious, causing ill health and a loss of productivity, without obvious clinical symptoms. Marginal deficiencies affect variable numbers of stock from year-to-year. They are hard to predict and identify, but routine supplementation
can be incorporated into the feeding plan. The principle of trace element nutrition should be one of prevention, rather than a response to evidence
of a deficiency.
The role of trace elements & vitamins in ruminant feeding.
COBALT (Co) is required by ruminants for the production of vitamin B12.
A deficiency results in listlessness, loss of appetite, rough coat, scaly skin, reproductive failure and anaemia. Sheep are more sensitive to cobalt
deficiency than cattle, whilst young animals are more susceptible than adults.
COPPER (Cu) is a component of red blood cells and is involved in enzyme systems, i.e. haemoglobin synthesis. It is necessary for the pigmentation
of wool and hair. Copper is a very important trace element. A deficiency causes retarded growth, loss of appetite, anaemia and scours. Wool may
grow straight and straggly; hair tends to fade and is often shed particularly round the eyes. Milk yield is lowered and fertility affected.
A deficiency results in swayback in sheep.
IODINE (I) is incorporated into the hormones produced by the thyroid gland. Thyroid hormones exert control over energy metabolism, physical and
mental growth, endocrine glands and the circulatory system.
A deficiency can result in birth of weak, hairless or dead young and infertility. A typical symptom is a swollen neck or goitre.
MANGANESE (Mn) is essential for the correct formation of bone and the development and function of the reproductive system - it is mainly associated with enzyme systems.
A deficiency results in poor growth, leg deformities, poor fertility and abortion.
SELENIUM (Se) promotes growth by improving the correct functioning of muscle and organs such as the liver. Selenium improves fertility and can
reduce post-natal losses, particularly in sheep. The anti-oxidant function of selenium means that it is considered closely with Vitamin E.
A deficiency causes muscle weakness, i.e. white muscle disease in lambs, calves and foals and retained placentas in adults
ZINC (Zn) is involved in the growth of body cells, formation of skin, hair, bone and cartilage.
A deficiency results in poor growth, lowered appetite, poor feed conversion and delayed wound healing. In calves skin disorders, stiff gait and the
swelling of hocks and knees may result.
VITAMIN A is essential for correct vision and development of bones and mucous membranes. Vitamin A is stored in the liver, which acts as a reserve.
A deficiency results in blindness, infertility, abortion or the production of dead, weak or blind calves. Deficient animals are more easily infected by
disease because mucous membranes are weakened allowing bacteria, particularly pneumonia, to enter the tissues.
VITAMIN D3 is a very important vitamin concerned with calcium and phosphorus metabolism in the correct development and maintenance of
bones and teeth. Its requirement is greatest during pregnancy and lactation.
A deficiency can cause bone weakness (rickets) and poor growth rates. It is also believed to be involved in milk fever.
VITAMIN E has a broad spectrum of activity including fat metabolism, reproduction and muscle function. It is essential for conversion of carotenes
to Vitamin A.
A deficiency results in muscle weakness affecting reproduction, heart, liver, lungs, brain and renal activities.
How can trace element availability/deficiency be determined ? The best indication of an animal’s trace element status can be obtained through a combination of pasture sampling and/or blood/tissue samples of
affected animals.

Purpose of Use:
The liver is a very sensitive organ because of the eliminating toxins which has a very important role in digestion of fat and protein.
Clinical researches prove that certain substances such as B vitamins as well as other vitamins, certain amino acids, trace elements,
choline chloride, betaine, B-carotene have liver protective affect and increase maintanence of parenchyma. Hepatice 33 produced
from 33 kinds of vitamins, minerals, a mixture of nutrients and protective substances.
Benefits:
Shows a high level of liver-protecting property with active ingredients.
When used regularly, protects the animals against liver coma.
Its a good level toxin binder, so lightens the burden of the liver and contributes the reconstruction of liver.

Usage and Dosage:

Definition: A nutrition must be given monthly includes A, D, E vitamins with
other vitamins and organic minerals used in addition for calves on a monthly
basis.

Giving Vitamin A, D, E to animal while there is no disease has no place in

USAGE OF SİLAMİX GRANULE SILAGE ADDICTIVE
Sprinkles into each layer for each ton 0,5 kg Silamix granule silage addictive. Other than corn for green
herbs and fodders with a low dry matter content, usage of 2 kg or more recommended. During use, make
sure to use dust mask, rubber gloves, protective glass and dress.
HOW TO MAKE QUALITY CORN SLAGE?
•Corns must be harvested after milk, at the beginning of dough stage.
•Practicaly, if 1/3 – 2/3 grains of corncob yellow rest are white and when we squeeze the slage
material if not dripping and when we open our handful, if keeps together and wet, its suitable
for making slage.
•Harvested corns must be carried to silo in no time. Sprinkles equally into each layer for
each ton 0,5 - 2 kg Silamix Granule Silage Addictive or repels 1 – 2 liter Silamix Liquid Slage
Addictive.
•Each layer must be compressed until there is no air left with tractor or etc vehicles.
Compressing time must be minimum 5 minutes for each ton of product; for 6 tons of trailer
must be 30 minutes.
•Silage must be finished in 2 – 3 days, should not be any longer. When silage takes more than
a day, silo must be closed temporary and when continuing silage must be opened again.
•Silo must be closed hermetically and fixed with soil and scrap tires. Weather resistance must
be increased.
•Silo to prevent ingress of rain, drainage barriers and canals must be created.
•Will be ready to use in 4 – 6 weeks.
