CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
Tuesday, December 1st beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Theatre Courts Building
With our warm climate, some folks still think it’s far too early to think about Christmas...but count on it...the holidays will be
here before you know it. If the summer-like temperatures are stifling your holiday spirit, we have just the event to get it fired
up!
Each year the chamber partners with the City of Deer Park to kick-start the holiday season with a Christmas Tree Lighting
Ceremony. This year is no exception. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1st beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Deer
Park’s Theatre Courts Building (next to the Fire Station). With some luck, the evening may be cool enough to dress in your
favorite holiday outfit and enjoy the entertainment with a cup of hot chocolate. What a great way to begin the holiday season!
We are currently seeking three (3) $300.00 major sponsorships, and fifteen (15) minor $150.00 sponsorships. To thank our
sponsors and provide well deserved name recognition, a large sign will be placed in front of the Theatre Courts Building
where the event takes place, and will remain there throughout the month of December.
Mayor Wayne Riddle will be on hand that evening to greet guests and kick-off the festivities. Deer Park High School Swing
Choir, and San Jacinto Elementary School Choir will provide entertainment. Count on them to sing your holiday favorites.
No holiday celebration would be complete without Santa, so don’t forget to bring the kiddos!

We are indebted to the folks who supported the
Golf Tournament through tent and hole sponsorship. We were able to complete the first flight on
October 9th, but because of Mother Nature, the
second/afternoon flight has been rescheduled for
November 6th. I’d be totally remiss if I didn’t extend
a special note of thanks to those committee members and volunteers who worked so hard to ensure
the safety of our tent vendors and golfers. We will
have an even better day on November 6th.
November 19th and Salute to Industry will be here
before we know it, and that’s a good thing. Salute
to Industry is an event that gives us the opportunity
to honor our friends at San Jacinto College District,
who have contributed so much to the community,
as well as the industrial field. If you are not able to
showcase your business with a booth at Salute to
Industry, please contact the chamber to reserve
your seat for lunch.
This year’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will
take place on Tuesday, December 1st beginning at
6:00 p.m. at the Theater Courts Building. What a
pleasure it is to take part in Deer Park’s prelude to
the holiday season and share that experience with
fellow citizens. Please make plans to join us and
be sure to bring the kiddos!
There are three days the chamber will be closed
during the month of November...just thought you
may want to note them on your calendar! Closure
days are Veteran’s Day (11), and of course the
Thanksgiving holiday (26 & 27). If your plans will
take you out of town to celebrate, please have a
safe and fun-filled holiday!
Instructions to take advantage of chamber benefits
are as follows:
When your newsletter arrives, pour yourself a cup
of coffee, find a cushy chair, relax, and take a moment to review what’s being offered. The flyers to
R.S.V.P. are included for your convenience.
So...fill them out, fax them back, or visit the website
and you’re well on your way to a new learning experience or networking opportunity.

Board is drawing to an end. This month your Board
of Directors will meet for their annual retreat to plan
your programs for 2010. With such an innovative
and diverse board, watch for great things in 2010!
