Report of Secretary: No report Report of Treasurer: Current Balance $30,240.55 still waiting on expenses from All Breed Field Trial. Erika Wally 5 in and 2 out. The dog with skin issues is doing better. Stevie who we met in February is in need of a new home. Event Committees Annual Awards- Rebecca Casperson-Perkins No report Report of the board: Health Clinic- Sandy Primovic No report. The health clinic will be held either the 17th or the 24th. Cerf recordings will be transferring over to OFA who has a better health records data base. Reports of the standing committees: Performance- (Obedience, Tracking, Agility) Sharon Rosenkoetter and Cindy Burrows The National Tracking test had 2 beautiful days of tracking. 2 TDs runs with 1 pass and 2 TDX runs. Breeder Referral/Public education- Suzanne Wakefield, Sue Lister: Spring specialty- Margie Williams and Judy Knobbe The specialty will be held April 6th and 7th. Judges are not set yet. National Specialty- Rita Langford has 4 girls available. Sue Lister has a litter of 6. The position of public education coordinator is open feel free to volunteer. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to make the 2012 specialty such a huge success. No financials available yet. Be the logo was a huge hit. Some picture frames, glasses and medallions for sale. Art Ottenad made a motion that we use the medallions to honor the veterans. Makaylah seconded the motion. The motion passed. Conformation-We still need a committee chair for this one too. Feel free to volunteer. Unfinished Business- Field- Sasha Josipovic and Jeannie Greenlee: No report Membership- Judy Knobbe and Makalah Boyer Erika Wally had her second reading and was unanimously voted into membership. Rich Collegeman and Albert Pauli both had first readings. Programs- We had discussion regarding the website. Karen Arbuthnot would like to step down as webmaster. Sasha Josipovic has agreed to take over. We will be looking for a web hosting service that has password protection compatibility as the current one is out dated and is not able to be password protected. New BusinessThe following volunteered to serve on the nominating committee: Rebecca Casperson-Perkins, Rita Langford, and Brenda Cavanagh. November will be the annual Veterans Celebration. Anyone who has suggestions or is willing to plan programs is welcome to contact a member of the board with their ideas. We would like to broaden our programs. A motion was made at 8:28 pm by Art Ottenad and seconded by Makaylah Boyer. The motion passed. Rescue- Mike Stemmler Rebecca Casperson-Perkins 2 Respectfully submitted Bang - Smokingold Guns Up - earned her CCA and one Master Hunter pass at the National, then on September 30th she finished her Master Hunter title at the Skunk River Retriever Club Hunt Test. Jeannie Greenlee SmokinGold Takes the Cup "Stanley" owned by Pat Kasten, bred by Jeannie Greenlee, earned his JH on Sept. 29th at the Skunk River Hunting Retriever Assoc. in Iowa. Also earned his WC at our National. Make checks payable to GRCGSL and mail your request to the newsletter editor. Complimentary newsletters will be provided for two months on request. Membership: Membership dues for one year are $15 for an individual and $20 for a family and include a subscription to the newsletter. Anyone wishing to apply for membership is invited to attend a club meeting as a guest and obtain an application form from the Membership Chairman. The completed application shall carry the endorsement of two unrelated club members as sponsors and shall be returned to the Membership Chairman along with a check for annual dues. The applicant’s sponsors shall be responsible for introducing the applicant to the Club, encouraging participation in Club functions, and making the applicant aware of the objectives of the Club. The prospective member’s application shall be read by the Membership Chairman at the first Club meeting following its’ receipt and the sponsors shall speak on their behalf. The applicant’s name will be published in the next Newsletter and his application will be voted on at the following Club meeting. Affirmative votes of ¾ of the members present and voting at that meeting shall be required to elect the applicant. Litter Listing and Breeder Referral Guidelines: Litter listings will be limited to basic information about the litter: whelping or due date, sex distribution, sire, dam, grandparents, examination reports on the sire and dam, and breeder’s name, address and phone number. Only GRCGSL members in good standing who are the owner or co-owner of the sire or the dam may list a litter in the Gateway Golden Gazette or with GRCGSL’s Breeder Referral service. There is no charge for either service. The Newsletter Editor and Breeder Referral Chair must be provided with copies of the following prior to listing the litter: 1) Sire and dam’s OFA hip AND elbow registration or OFA preliminary hip and elbow evaluation: preliminary evaluations on dogs over 30 months of age by date of listing may not be used. 2) Sire and Dam’s CERF clearances or normal eye reports from an ACVO board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist dated within 12 months of breeding. 3) Subvalvular Aortic Stenosis (SAS) clearance or normal heart clearance from a board certified cardiologist. References to Von Willebrand’s Disease (VWD) and Thyroid examinations may also be included, provided copies of these reports are furnished. Older dogs and rescue Goldens may be listed provided they have been neutered or if neutering is a condition of the sale/placement.
