What happened in August?
A Night Out with Friends
Picnic with United Way
Feast on the East
Senior Day at the Duck Pond
Volunteers from the
United Way spent the
afternoon with us at
a picnic lunch in the
park surrounded by a
picturesque view of the
wildlife, beautiful pond
and groomed walking
paths. We enjoyed brats
fresh off the grill and the
best of company.
We invited some of our friends
to a nice dinner off campus
before seeing the Fireside
Theater’s production of Singing
in the Rain.
To most of us, the east side is our home and one that has so much to offer. Oak Park Place was
proud to showcase some of the best known restaurants on or side of the capitol. We would like
to thank all the vendors who made this afternoon a true feast and one that we will never forget.
Our thanks goes out to Toby’s Supper Club, People’s Bakery, Red Lobster, Applebee’s, Olive Garden, Brother’s Three Bar & Grill, 1855 Saloon & Grill, Papa Jimmy’s Pizzeria, Tully’s II Food & Spirits,
Rosati’s Pizza, Dairlyand Family Restaurant, The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co., Ella’s Deli & Ice
Cream Parlor, Doolittles Woodfire Grill, and Monona Garden Family Restaurant. We could not
have had such a wonderful evening without the help of the United Way and their organizing of
volunteers from the UW Foundation and the Greater Madison Convention & Visitor Bureau.
Everyone was invited to celebrate Senior Day with a Mallards
Game at the Duck Pond. We cheered on Maynard and the team
during the close game against the Rockford Rivets. Although the
Rivets won by one run, our Mallards went on to defeat them at
the Rockford Stadium 7–1 at the evening game.
2016 Summer Olympics
Thank you all for a memorable afternoon and for the delicious catered-in food!
