The Test - Kaimuki Christian Church
Feb. 13/15, 2015
Pastor Ron and Dee
Dear Family and Friends,
There is a threat to the children in our state that calls every person of faith
to prayer. The Lord calls some of us to action. Supplementary curriculum and
books promoting sexual activity and lifestyles contrary to the values we hold has
been in many of our public schools for the past couple decades. You’d be
shocked at the titles and content of some of these books.
This past week, a bill was introduced in the House to mandate
“comprehensive sex education” in our public schools, grades K-12. You’d be
stunned to hear what teachers would be forced to teach children beginning in
Kindergarten. Testimony presented by advocates like Planned Parenthood, who
profits obscenely from teen pregnancies/abortions, was misleading and downright untrue.
Phil Lees, a former educator from Canada, has seen firsthand what has resulted from this same move north of the border. He’s also traced this downward spiral in states that have implemented this curriculum in states like California, Oregon and Massachusetts.
Phil, along with Pastor Dave Willweber,
have been conducting meetings across our state to inform parents and to equip
them to work with principals and teachers in their local school, so that they may
opt their children out of classes where objectionable material will be taught.
Our own Herman & Bernie Hamada have worked tirelessly to assist them.
There are a few meetings remaining, including one here at KCC this coming
Saturday, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. in our Fellowship Hall.
You may say, “Why should I get involved?”, reasoning that your children are
no longer in school, or that your children are in a private school. Consider this:
Our church has a Christian school, because we want to provide a quality
Christian education. But our responsibility for the children of these Islands does
not end with Kaimuki Christian School. We care about all the children of Hawaii!
We are called to act to redeem a decaying culture, to be salt & light. If we have
no children in school, or if they’re in a private school, our commitment to Christ
yet calls us to partner with parents and educators in the public schools for the
sake of our keiki. Please pray about coming to one of these meetings and ask
the Lord how you can be involved.
Grace to you,
Our KCC Elders and Staff desire to assist you any way they can. Please don’t hesitate to call us. If this is your
first time here, the following may answer questions you may have:

Our Mission is to glorify God
by making disciples who love God

as themselves..
(Exodus 17:1-7)
“Every difficulty we encounter is a test!”
If that Rock at Rephidim could talk, it might say:
“Remember…

…that you’ve never

a place beyond
“Follow through on what He’s told you and you’ll

OUR INSPIRE YOUTH MINISTRY meets on Sunday at 12 pm in the Multi Purpose Room. Our
Middle Schoolers meet at 9:30 am and11:00 am also in the Multi-Purpose Room.
WORSHIP We gather to praise our Lord. We encourage you to be comfortable, not coerced in your worship. We also encourage you to step out of your comfort zone, if doing so helps you express a heart of worship. You can stand, sit or kneel. Be considerate of others, but don’t hold back out of fear of what someone
may think. We’re “performing” for an audience of One.
HEADSETS AVAILABLE
We have headsets available for those who have difficulty hearing during our
worship services. Please check them out at the Information Station.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY A loving team of volunteers is available at our Friday and 8:00 am, 9:30 am

Faith & Public Education Seminar
Advocating for faith families with children in the Public School System. The sex ed
curriculum, Pono Choices (PC), has once again been approved for use in schools.
PC is just one example of a controversial international trend. States using similar
programs have progressed to include even more controversial sexual content.
Upcoming meetings are listed on flyers in the information stations.
