We’re glad you’re here and hope your day is a fun and memorable one! Carowinds is dedicated to maintaining a
quality, family environment. To provide a day that is both safe and comfortable for everyone we need your help.
Safety is our top priority, if you have any questions or concerns please bring it to our attention immediately. You may
speak with any park employee or stop by Guest Services if there is anything we can do to make your visit more
enjoyable. All of us here at Carowinds are proud that you have chosen to visit our park, we hope to see you again soon.
Rider Safety Requirements
• Many rides at Carowinds are dynamic and thrilling. There
are inherent risks in riding any amusement ride. For your
protection each ride is rated for its special features, such
as high speed, steep drops, sharp turns or other dynamic
forces. If you choose to ride, you accept all of these risks.
Restrictions for guests of extreme size (height or weight)
are posted at certain rides. Guests with disabilities should
refer to our Guest Assistance Guide available at Guest
Services. Participate responsibly. You should be in good
health to ride safely. You know your physical limitations,
Carowinds does not. If you suspect your health could
be at risk for any reason, or you could aggravate a
pre-existing condition of any kind, DO NOT RIDE!
• Guests with a history of recent surgery, heart-trouble,
high blood pressure, neck trouble, back trouble or any
other condition that may be aggravated by riding, or who
are pregnant should heed all warning signs at each ride
entrance. If you are in doubt about your ability to safely
experience a ride or would like more information, please
request our Guest Assistance Guide at Guest Services.
We’ll be happy to brief you on our Ride Admission Policy
and explain how it applies to your specific situation. We
hope we can help you enjoy your day more fully.
• All passenger restraint systems, including lap bars,
shoulder harnesses and seatbelts, must be positioned,
fastened properly and tightened securely to allow guests
to ride. Please try our test seat at the ride entrance of
Nighthawk, Intimidator & Fury325 prior to waiting in line.
• Most rides cannot accommodate loose articles including
cell phones, pagers, hats, cameras, stuffed animals,
purses, backpacks, umbrellas, beverage containers,
personal entertainment devices, etc. Items must be
safely secured in cargo pockets, a waist pack, left in a
locker, placed in an article bin at the ride location or left
with a non-rider. Ride operators are not responsible for
these items. Loose articles of any kind are not allowed
in the line or on the ride platform at Fury 325. Glasses
must be secured on all rides. For safety reasons, taking
pictures, videotaping and filming on rides are prohibited.
• Supervise children at all times. A guest’s height is an
important safety factor on many rides and attractions.
Children may be measured and receive a wristband,
if qualified, at the Height Measuring Stations. For the
safety of your child, a standard play shoe which does not
contribute excessively to the child’s height is required. For
example, a child is not permitted to wear platform shoes to
help meet a height requirement. Carowinds reserves the
right to ask that shoes be removed to ensure that a child’s
height is not being artificially enhanced or manipulated.
• Hand held infants are restricted from most rides.
• North Carolina and South Carolina state law requires
riders to obey all warnings and directions and behave
in a manner that will not cause or contribute to injuring
themselves or others. Riders shall report all injuries
before leaving.
Park Information
Smoking Is prohibited, except in designated
smoking areas located near most restrooms.
Alcoholic Policy You must be 21 years of age to
purchase, possess or consume alcoholic beverages.
Alcoholic beverages must be consumed within
designated areas. Alcohol sales will end one hour
prior to scheduled park closing time.
Behavior At any time, if you refuse to follow park
rules, or act inappropriately for a family amusement
park, you will be required to leave the park.
No refunds will be issued.
Dress Shirt and shoes must be worn at all times.
Swimwear must be sufficiently covered. Profanity,
obscene gestures and statements, pictures of
illegal substances, insignia of paramilitary groups,
all gang-related items on clothing, costumes or
disguises that conceal identity are prohibited and
admission to the park may be refused.
First Aid/Security Located near the Carolina Cobra.
First Aid is staffed by certified Emergency Medical
Technicians at all times. Security officers are
available throughout the park for your assistance.
Food and Drink No outside food or drinks are
allowed in the park.
Guest with Disabilities Information for guests
with disabilities is available at Guest Services or
First Aid.
Inclement Weather Policy Carowinds will
remain open in most weather situations however;
the weather affects each ride differently. Rides will
close if there is a threat of lightning, high winds or
heavy rain. Sorry, no rain checks or refunds. Line Breaking Line jumping, cutting in front of
others, saving a place in line or leaving a line and
trying to re-enter may lead to ejection from the park.
Lost & Found Located outside the front gate. If you
lose an article on a ride, please see the ride attendant.
Do not enter unauthorized areas. Carowinds is not
responsible for lost or stolen items.
Rentals Lockers, strollers, wheelchairs & ECVs are
available for rent at Rental Centers. Additional lockers
are located in Boomerang Bay and near Fury 325.
Same Day Re-entry Hand stamps are required
for re-entry. To re‑enter the parking lot, place your
parking ticket on your dashboard.

Boomerang Bay Rules
• Proper bathing attire is required. Undergarments and
transparent clothing is not permitted.
• Swim suits with zippers, buttons, and/or hard rivets
will not be allowed on body slides.
• Only Coast Guard approved lifejackets are allowed as
floatation devices. They are available free of charge.
• Children in diapers should wear waterproof diaper covers.
• Do not talk to or distract lifeguards while they are on duty.

Operating schedules for rides and shows are
subject to change or cancellation without
notice. The use of camera phones, video
recording devices or still photography cameras
are prohibited in any restrooms and on all rides.

RIDER HEIGHT REQUIREMENTS For the safety of all
park guests, all rides have rider height requirements based
on the manufacturers’ recommendations. Other appropriate
safety requirements may also apply. The rider height
requirements are listed above and are posted at the ride entrance.
ACCOMPANIED BY Whenever a guest is required to be accompanied
by a Supervising Companion, the accompanying person must meet the
ride requirements, be able to safely ride the ride as well as assist the guest.
This includes helping the guest when boarding and exiting the ride, assisting
the guest to maintain postural control while riding, and assisting the guest down
stairs, catwalks or ladders in case a ride evacuation is necessary.
SUPERVISING COMPANION Accompanying a child is one who meets all the requirements
to ride the ride, is 16 years of age or older and demonstrates appropriate observed behavior.
