Douro River Cruise & Tour
Viking River Cruises “Viking Hemming”
May 5-15, 2016
Join Herb Reisenfeld on a spectacular 10-day cruise and tour visiting beautiful towns and
cities in both Portugal and Spain. Our journey starts with a two-night stay in Lisbon,
Portugal at the Hotel Tivoli Lisboa. You will enjoy a panoramic city tour of this beautiful
city featuring the Tower of Belem & Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO site and have free
time for sightseeing or shopping. After our visit to Lisbon we transfer by motorcoach via
Coimbra to Porto, Portugal where we embark our ship, the luxurious Viking Hemming
which was especially constructed for cruising the Douro River.
We spend the next eight days on our ship visiting quaint towns along the river route.
Enjoy wine tastings, Flamenco and Fado shows, a traditional bakery, Mateus Palace and
Gardens, a full-day excursion to Salamanca, Spain and much more. Eight guided tours
are included. The daily shore excursions include must-see highlights and delightful
surprises. These expertly guided tours bring you close to the art, architecture, history
and people of the land.
The Viking Hemming was built in 2014 has a capacity of only 106 guests and a crew of
36. The staterooms are beautifully appointed featuring hotel-style beds, spacious
closets, full–size bathrooms and flat screen televisions with English programming.
You can enjoy uninterrupted sightseeing from the Sun Deck, Observation Lounge or
restaurant, all designed to give you the best views.
You have choices of what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner and where to dine.
Greet the morning with a croissant and cappuccino on deck, or begin your day with a
sumptuous buffet breakfast. Have a casual lunch al fresco or join friends in the
restaurant. All onboard meals are created by Viking’s Swiss-trained chefs featuring fresh
ingredients, regional specialty options and served in a variety of settings.
Complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks are served with onboard lunch and dinner.
Bottled water and complimentary cappuccino, coffee and tea are served at the 24 hour
hot beverage bar.
Due to the popularity of European river cruising and this unique itinerary, space is
limited so don’t miss the boat, book online today or call!
