A little more information about our 2016-2017 HSC Board Nominees and Hopeful Nominees!
President
Aletta Godden
I am born and raised in South Africa, but have called the US my home for the last 20 years. Over
time, I've worked in biotech, and motorcycle manufacturing while putting myself through
school, earning a business degree. The last few years, I've been dedicating to building,
molding, and morphing my dream company; it is crazy and exciting with loads of ups and
downs, but I enjoy the challenge. I'm currently a co-VP on the HSC board (Aug 2015-present)
and active in other volunteer areas, being passive fundraiser coordinator since Aug 2014,
Farmigo community organizer since Feb 2015, garden committee member, was head room
parent when my little was in TK, and now for her Kinder class. I was also one of the cocoordinators for this year's Walkathon. In closing, I look forward to continue and support
Fammatre, building on its success as a wonderful, and progressive school within the community
and, help promote our amazing positive school spirit. Thank you for the opportunity.
Erika Foss I am a Santa Clara University Alum. Professionally, I worked in the Silicon Valley for
over 10 years, spending most of that time at Cisco Systems in Operations, and eBay in
Corporate Communications, PR and Investor Relations. I stopped working out of the house
when my third child, Hayley was born in 2010. I am now a full time stay-at home mom for my
son Ethan who will be going into the fourth grade next year and my daughter who will be
starting Kindergarten at Fammatre. I also have a graduating senior at Branham who will be
going off to college in the Fall.
I am interested in joining the board to get to know the Fammatre Community better. Given the
changes that are happening within our school and the Cambrian School District I would like to
be involved in maintaining the high-level of fun events, fundraisers, after school programs that
makes this place so special for our kids and families.
I have been head room parent and I have volunteered weekly during class rotations during my
years here. This year I was a Project Cornerstone Reader for Ethan’s 3rd grade class.
Vice President
Mike Roberts I graduated from the University of San Francisco in 1997. I am an investment
advisor with a local private firm and a San Jose Rotary club member. My wife and I have a
soon to be fifth grader and second grader and I am so proud of them. The last few years I
have been an asset building champion (ABC reader) under Project Cornerstone. This volunteer
role made me smile every time I entered the classroom. I have evaluated/scored science
projects, worked with the tinker lab, walkathon, and the Fammatre garden. I am interested in
investigating what it takes to be a green certified school. I look forward to supporting Mrs.
MacFarland’s vision for our school.
Jessica Baker I will have a second grader and Kindergartner at Fammatre next year. I have
been a teacher with Cambrian for several years and most recently have worked part time as
the ELD Teacher at Fammatre. I have my masters degree in Education as well as a BS in
Business Administration. This year I enjoyed being the Room Parent for Mrs. Ruiz as well as the
coordinator for Wacky Wednesday. I've also served on the board of my children's co-op
preschool. I'm looking forward to continuing to support Fammatre as we're so happy our
children get to learn and grow here.
Treasurer
Cindy Roberts I look forward to getting to know other parents and teachers as we work
together to make Fammatre the best it can be for our kids. I have degrees in Mathematics and
Computer Science from BU, and I work as a software engineer. I have previously volunteered
to plan Family Dinner nights, and I was a parent helper/backstage crew for Peter Pan.
Melissa Taylor I am very excited to be considered to play a part in the Fammatre HSC Board. I
have lived in the Los Gatos/ Cambrian area my entire life, growing up through the Campbell
Union School District myself. I have two children at Fammatre; my daughter Chloe is currently
in Kindergarten and my son, Cole, is currently in third grade. My husband, Keith, and I enjoy
every aspect of our time with the school and have made wonderful parent and teacher
connections. I have had the opportunity to participate in great programs within the school;
Project Cornerstone, the annual Walkathon, and multiple in-classroom responsibilities through
our tenure at Fammatre. We are very involved in Community sports and Community programs
for both our children and love every minute of it!
I believe highly in education and possess Bachelor degrees in Sociology and Political Science,
as well as Graduate studies in Statistics and Analytics. I have over 20 years of experience within
the IT Services industry, and have worked with the same company for the past 14 years. In my
current role, I run a $150M organization within the company and have full responsibility for P&L,
Revenue and Profitability Management and overall day to day productivity of my teams. In my
early career, I held Management positions overseeing finances and bookkeeping with local
businesses in the San Jose /Los Gatos area.
I am hopeful with taking on the responsibilities of the Treasurer role I can impact the budget of
the school, improve the funding available to our children and provide overall support in
ensuring the appropriate assistance is focused where it needs to be – on our children at
Fammatre!
Auditor
Debbie Clima I am running for the position of auditor. Currently I am a first grade teacher at
John Muir Elementary School in the Cupertino Union School District. Previously I have served as
Co-President of the Fammatre HSC, Accelerated Reader Coordinator, Mileage Club
Coordinator, Room Parent Coordinator, Room Parent, Art Vista Docent and Project
Cornerstone Reader. I am interested in serving as auditor because I feel that my past
experience with the HSC provides me with foundational knowledge to help ensure that
Fammatre continues to serve the best interest of the students. My goal is to support the HSC in
providing high quality programs that support educational opportunities and build our
community.
