Our Stage 3 students were all on time yesterday for their trip to Canberra and arrived back safely late last night. Thanks to all the parents and students for their prompt arrival and excellent behaviour on the day. A special thank you to the teachers, Mrs Azzopardi, Mr Robberds and Miss Rameh who offered to organise and accompany the students on this invaluable trip. Some parents may not realise that teachers do not get paid anything extra for working outside school hours. We are extremely lucky to have such dedicated teachers who always go above and beyond their call of duty to provide the best possible well-rounded education for your children. Our School Leaders, Mrs Manning, Mrs Morris, Mrs Azzopardi and Mrs Ibrahim will be attending a professional learning session on strategies for engaging and motivating students, as part of our commitment to the Bankstown Leadership Group. I will also be attending a workshop on the new Learning Management and Business Reform (LMBR) that will commence in Term 4 for all NSW schools. Our White Ribbon Respect Group will be performing at Bankstown Centro on centre stage outside Kmart on Thursday 4th August at 6pm. These students have composed the lyrics to the rap that they will perform. They have been working with two representatives from Bankstown Youth Development every Monday for the last term. We have seen an improvement in the maturity and attitudes of the boys and know they will make us very proud on the night. If you are able to make it, please come and support the school. We are safe, respectful learners. This week is Education Week however we will be celebrating Education Week with Book Week in Week 6. We will be holding a Book Character Parade on Wednesday 24th August, Parent Workshops and Open Classrooms on Thursday 25th from 9am-11.00am. The School will also be hosting a Book Fair during Week 6. Please provide your child with a fruit or vegetable snack break along with a bottle of water every day. Our focus at school is to create and provide healthy eating and learning experiences.
