RVNA’s strong foundation: 100+ years of caring
for those in need…now moving forward with a new facility
slated for completion in early 2016 to better serve the area’s
growing health care needs.
We never lose sight of a key element in our success – the quality of our staff, its compassion and
caring, and its ability to work together as a team. We are immensely proud that one of our nurses,
Erin O’Rourke, was nationally recognized and named the Outstanding Clinician of the Year by the
Visiting Nurse Associations of America. Erin embodies all the best characteristics of a visiting nurse,
and along with her dedicated co-workers is a wonderful asset to RVNA and the entire community.
dear friends
Thanks to you, RVNA has arrived at an important turning point in its 100-year
history. With your help and generous contributions, we are anticipating the
conclusion of a successful fundraising campaign fueled by an unprecedented
outpouring of community support. In just a few months, we will move into our
new home on Governor Street, where there will be innovative disease management programs, clinics, rehabilitation programs and even a teaching kitchen.
Where a single visiting nurse once made her rounds in Ridgefield in 1914, this year a staff of 130
supported and cared for more than 1,200 patients, making well over 50,000 home care visits in 27
western Connecticut towns. We conducted 1,576 community health care screenings and provided
$738,000 in subsidized care. Our programs and services enhance the quality of life along the
continuum of care, offering multi-generational health and wellness services for all residents.
Moving forward, we have just completed a five-year strategic plan. We continue to shape our vision
to accommodate the evolving health care landscape, new technology and challenges in health care
funding. We have prepared a blueprint that combines sensible growth with innovation.
Backed by the finest health care clinicians and a supportive community, RVNA is ready to expand
its ongoing role as your trusted home and community health care resource. We look forward to
welcoming you into our new home in 2016 and serving you in yours.

Lifeline is a medical alert device that provides
access to help, 24 hours a day, in the event of an
emergency. RVNA recommends Lifeline for those
who are medically compromised as well as for
healthy people living alone. We now offer “Go
Safe,” a new mobile device with GPS technology
for more active people.
At the push of a button a call for help can be
placed. Lifeline’s unique “Auto Alert” feature
can detect a fall with 95% accuracy and signal
for help when a person cannot. If a person
does not respond in 30 seconds, emergency
personnel are notified.
Why RVNA’s Lifeline?

THE CABINET OF
RVNA’S CAMPAIGN FOR TOMORROW
In the years leading up to our Centennial, we
evaluated the challenges and opportunities of
a changing health care landscape. The aging
population, the ability to provide direct care in
a patient’s own home, advances in technology,
and the need for readily accessible services for
individuals of all ages were compelling factors
that led us to develop a dynamic plan that
would guide us into the next century – a plan
both exciting and critical for us to serve out
our mission.
Seated left to right:
Front row: Paul McNamara;
Eileen Walker, Campaign
Chair; Harold Spratt
Back row: Jeff Ryer;
Jay Walker; Mary Jones;
Larry Bossidy, Honorary
Chair; Sue Manning;
Bill Wyman; Tom Reynolds
The RVNA Campaign for Tomorrow, led by Eileen
Walker and the late Mike Ryer, is successfully
raising funds to build a new state-of-the-art
facility, enhance chronic disease management
programs and boost our endowment. We are
proud to honor the cabinet of dedicated individuals who have made our project their personal
mission. We thank them for their commitment to
RVNA and the health of our community.

TO OUR DONORS
Your generous contributions this fiscal year
helped RVNA serve more than 1,200 people in
their homes with the compassionate and skilled
care we’ve been providing for more than a century. The need for home health care continues
to grow, and with your support, we are able to
meet the demand regardless of one’s diagnosis or
ability to pay. This year, RVNA made more than
50,000 home care visits, and we offered health
and wellness programs, educational seminars
and clinics touching thousands of lives. Our
annual Community Health and Wellness Fair,
blood pressure clinics, Well Child clinics, flu
clinics and innovative aging-in-place program,
Quality Living at Home, would not be possible
without your continued financial support.
And your generous contributions are making
construction of our new home at 27 Governor
Street possible, which when completed in
early 2016 will offer expanded health programs
and services to the community. Thank you!
Our donors have made a
lasting difference in the
health and wellness of
everyone in our community.
