Johnson reported to the City Council Monday night on a recent appraisal survey made by two outside real estate appraisers. He stated they came up with a total cash value of $8,573,770 for all the property in the city. He also stated he based his city assessments on 45 per cent of this figure. The state figures made on the basis of 50 per cent of the cash value would be more than 12 million, which is about 3% million higher than his figures.
