2012-2013 L’Anse Creuse High School School Mission Statement: Our mission is to educate, build character and instill integrity in every student so they are able to make a seamless and successful transition to post-secondary education or employment and become productive members of this ever-changing global society. Principal’s Message: The 2012-13 school year opened with numerous facility upgrades at L’Anse Creuse High School. The entire first floor of our building and the majority of the campus have been upgraded thanks to our supportive and caring school-community. Some of the facility upgrades included; two renovated parking lots, new flooring, new lockers, a new band room addition, classroom renovations, site lighting and entry doors. The second floor of the building is on the list for future upgrades and renovations. The student enrollment in “Lancer Country” topped out at 1,626 students in grades 9-12. There were 80 teachers and 41 support staff that worked closely with students on the rigorous Michigan Merit Curriculum. Our students excelled on the ACT and the Michigan Merit Exam due to our continued focus on student growth and achievement. Many of our students enjoyed participating in 19 varsity sports, choir, drama, fine arts and numerous clubs and activities that supplemented their instructional program. Last year, our marching band finished as State Runner-up, the girls volleyball and softball teams were district champions and two members of our track team were named First Team All-State! Since 1955, L’Anse Creuse High School has been committed to excellence and serving our community. We continue this tradition as we strive to educate, build character and instill integrity in all of our students on an annual basis. Stephen P.
