NE AL FCA LEADERSHIP TRAINING WEEKEND
Class of 2006/2007
The 1st FCA Leadership Training was a great success. There was over 64 Students who attended and
over 20 FCA Board Members, Huddle Coaches and Volunteers. The picture above is a beautiful picture
of a vision we have had since we began serving the Lord through FCA.
Leadership Training is another part of discipleship and it is the key to the success of the Campus Ministry. The attendance for the weekend is a great sign of great things to come. We would like to thank
Bro. Will Faulkenberry (Youth Pastor at SBC) and Sherwood Baptist Church for allowing us to meet,
sleep and eat in their facilities.
The Students were challenged from Friday afternoon until Saturday evening with only minutes of FREE
TIME. The weekend went by quickly and as this newsletter is being printed we have already heard great
testimonies from the training. A group of Students got home late on Saturday night because they were
at the parking lot of their school sharing the Gospel with their friends! Praise the Lord!!
We would also like to thank Moe’s Grill, Chick-Fil-A, Buffalo Rock, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and
Arab First Baptist Church, UAH Fitness Center and our Home Team Members for their investments which
made this weekend possible! God Bless and thanks for being on the TEAM...The NE AL TEAM FCA!!

The phone rang one day last month and
on the other line was Kenny Crofford.
Kenny, who is an FCA Volunteer and the
Athletic Trainer at Lee High School, introduced me to Coach Gary Shelby who is the
Head Football Coach at Chapman Middle
School. We connected days later, signed
up 5 young men to go to Leadership Training and now there is a new huddle for

Chris, pictured left, is a young man who is an example of courage and passion. I met Chris at the Grace Fellowship
Sports Camp the 2nd week of June. Each day he attended camp and he was having so much fun. Daily, he would ask
many questions about FCA Camps. I shared with him about the Jr. High Leadership Camp in Shocco Springs which would
be the following week. He immediately connected me with his Mom. After talking to his Mother for approval, he attended
the camp and had a blast!
The next time I heard from Chris was at the mail box. His registration form for the Leadership Training Weekend was
one of the first we received. He attended the weekend even though he was the only one from his Middle School! I shall
never forget him sitting with a huddle leader and making a “GAME PLAN” for how to reach his campus for Christ! Chris,
thanks for your example of courage and passion! We are PROUD of YOU!! God Bless and thanks for being on the TEAM!
The COACHES COUPLES RETREAT in
beautiful Calaway Gardens was
amazing! We had 5 couples from our
area travel to GA to attend this
weekend. We are so thankful and
are very humbled to have the opportunity to invest in these Coaches
Marriages and their families. We
hope next year to have at least 10
couples attend this weekend.

at every FCA Camp/Event when
athletes are competing against
each other. It is a beautiful sight.
One FCA Volunteer at camp said,
“Everywhere I look I see teams
praying together!” What would
happen if this happened on campuses daily? I don’t know, but it
is our prayer to see it happen!
The students were placed in
Huddles for the weekend.
They prayed and played together as a team. RUNNING
the RACE and KEEPING the
FAITH TOGETHER as ONE!
The group picture above is the CRAZY SHOT of the weekend! Teenagers need
to be teenagers but with the goals we had for the training these young people had
to move all weekend long. We are so proud of the students for their attitudes, actions and how they represented their homes and schools. The theme of the weekend was learning to put ourselves in a “POSTION to WIN!” This position is on
our KNEES before God seeking Him daily in every area of our lives!
