The Blazer Ball took place on February 8 at 7:00 p.m. in
Basketball Coach for VSU, spoke to our students and gave
them some words of wisdom to challenge them in how they
live their lives.
The athletes loved the photo booth, food, lip sync battle,
and dancing. They enjoyed taking a break from their normal
class and practice routine. Thank you so much to all that
showed up and helped us make this event fun for the athletes.

Athletes Give Back: Fundraising BBQ Dinner
We recently heard of a need in one of our
coach’s lives. Upon hearing that his wife’s
cancer came back, we felt the need to support
them in some tangible way.
We set up an account at a local bank to allow people to make donations towards her
medical expenses. We also hosted a fundraising barbeque dinner at a home baseball game
to allow the community to give to the coach
while supporting our Blazers. Supporters that
purchased a plate were given free admission to
the game.
Anyone wanting to donate to her account,
can go to Citizen’s Community Bank on Baytree
Road and ask to deposit to “Donations for Ami
Guilliams.”
It Started with an FCA Bible
A female athlete recently came to the FCA house with questions about God and His word. Leslie McGhin, VSU Campus
Director, spoke with her and offered her a Bible to take home.
A couple of months later the young woman gave her heart to
the Lord and let Leslie know. Immediately after, she wanted to
start growing in God’s word, and she and Leslie setup a weekly
discipleship time. It’s been amazing to see God’s work in her
life!
