BARNABA N E WS S Friday, July 31, 2015 Following is a recap of recent news and happenings at Barnabas Health and its facilities rounded up from the most current editions of our Barnabas News employee newsletters. Barnabas Health Happenings... Barnabas Health Hospitals Recognized for Organ Donor Enrollment Achievements Seven Barnabas Health facilities: Clara Maass Medical Center, Community Medical Center, Jersey City Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center, are among a select group of hospitals and transplant centers nationwide recognized by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for conducting activities that promoted enrollment in state organ donor registries. The hospitals are part of the national Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign, sponsored by HHS’s Health Resources and Services Administration. Barnabas Health’s awareness and registry campaigns educated staff, patients, visitors, and community members on the critical need for organ, eye, and tissue donors and thereby increased the number of potential donors on the state’s donor registry. The hospitals earned points for each activity implemented during Phase IV of the campaign, between August 1, 2014, and April 30, 2015, and each were awarded bronze recognition by the Health Resources and Services Administration.
