Next match is - April 25th! March, 2015 Volume 7, Issue 3 THE DUEL IS DONE! Overall Ladies' and Men's Champions Spur Broke and Smilin' Slick McClade Wow! What a great time! In holding this year's annual Spring match the Jackson Hole Regulators set out to have a relaxed match with the focus on fun and by all accounts that is exactly what they managed to do. Last year and next year this match will be for the Louisiana State Championships so everyone will be all tense and charged up. But on this "in-between" year the goal was to have a great time! Over a hundred partners came in to Quitman from all over the country to try to earn one of the coveted Tomahawks that were awarded to the category winners. Thirty-six top shooters took home the hardware with second and third place runner-ups receiving custom gun cleaning kits. You can always count on sweet awards when you come to Jackson Hole! Speaking of sweet awards, those overall buckles are amazing! Big congratulations to Spur Broke and Slick McClade for taking home the Overall Ladies' and Men's titles. We had great weather for the whole weekend and the range was pretty well dried out from the deluge that had come through the previous weekend. Also, by moving the side matches to Saturday afternoon there was a full day of activities to enjoy. continued ... Like us on FACEBOOK JACKSON HOLE REGULATORS From Page 1 Of course we had the usual side matches like Speed Rifle, Speed Pistol, 3-Gun, etc. But then me, Black Viper, and Cletus Trinity got to talking and decided to have some that were a little bit different. Drawing from classic western movies, we came up with some different ideas. First, copying Jimmy Stewart in Winchester '73, we got a skeet launcher and set up for folks to bust clay pigeons with their rifles! Next, just like Rooster Cogburn after he had "pulled a cork", we tossed up water bottles for you to try to hit with your pistol in mid-air! Finally, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun inspired us to set up the plate rack and let folks shoot over their shoulders looking at their sites through a mirror! Czexican Dave won the first two "contests" and was awarded DVD copies of Winchester '73 and True Grit. Doc Cooper is pretty good over the shoulder and will get the musical classic Annie Get Your Gun. Enjoy 'em, boys! A big thanks to Doc and the boys for providing musical entertainment after the banquet, too. We had great grub down at the long range pavilion and it certainly looked like a good time was had by all. Y'all make plans to come back next year! (and don't forget Hellfire 2015 will be in September, we are already hard at work to make sure that match will be great, too!) - Hightower Congratulations to All of the Duel in the Bayou 2015 Category Winners: 49’r : 1st Sidewinder Sid, 2nd CBeaux, 3rd Fairbanks Sam Ladies 49’r : 1st Antelope Ann, 2nd Redemption, 3rd Dixie Deadeye B Western: 1st Hightower Ladies B Western: 1st Sierra Star, 2nd Lady Still Finger Grand Dame: 1st Miz Donnie Range Boss: 1st Tennessee Star, 2nd Fort Worth Dallas, 3rd Ed Sieker Texas Ranger Cowboy: 1st Tres Equis, 2nd Boomstick Jay, 3rd Peachtree Kid Cowgirl: 1st Spur Broke Classic Cowboy: 1st Doc Cooper, 2nd Shady McLary, 3rd Capt Juan Riot Classic Cowgirl: 1st Chula Kat Wrangler: 1st Colorado Jackson, 2nd Smokey Shane, 3rd Whiskey Kid Lady Wrangler: 1st Cheeka Bow Wow, 2nd Dixie Rebel, 3rd Angie Get Your Guns Duelist: 1st Anvil Al, 2nd Logan Sackett, 3rd Calhoun Kid Senior Duelist: 1st Marshall Big Daddy Jenks, 2nd Free at Last, 3rd Texas Tommy Gun Senior: 1st Crusty Steve, 2nd Czexican Dave, 3rd Montana Four Spot Silver Senior: 1st Ambler, 2nd Jubal Early, 3rd Snake Oil George Ladies Silver Senior: 1st Twilight Lil Elder Statesman: 1st Pineywoods Jim, 2nd FF Green, 3rd TX Jack Star Steampunk: 1st Slick McClade, 2nd Will E.
