WELCOME
Welcome to worship at Faith Church. We are delighted you are with
us this day. Please join us for lunch after worship!
CHILDCARE
John & Jennifer Horn will provide childcare in the nursery during
worship for children 3 and under. Next week, John & Gwen Horn will be
responsible.
WEDNESDAY EVENING MEALS
Please indicate on the friendship sheet how many from your family
will be coming for the meal. The menu is Sloppy Joes, Chips, Veggies &
Dessert. The suggested donation is $2 per person, $5 per family.
Please bring your own table service. Also, please sign up on the sheet
in the foyer to indicate when you'll bring a dessert and help with
cleanup.

Western District Conference:
Pray for God’s guidance for the Western District Conference Search
Committee seeking a new Conference Minister. Pray for Sondra Bandy
Koontz who chairs the committee.
Barry Unruh’s membership was transferred to First Mennonite Church
of Halstead.
Randy Janzen, son of Art & Helen Janzen (charter members) and Irene
Janzen’s nephew passed away Monday, Feb, 9. Funeral arrangements
TBA.

monthly potluck meals
~ the near-completion of the sanctuary renovation
~ the children and youth of our church as they spend time in study and
fellowship each week
~ the commitment of custodial, maintenance and administrative staff
that make our church an inviting place of fellowship and worship

~ Marilyn Decker as she undergoes further chemotherapy
~ Sarah Unruh, in Chicago, recovering from a virus infection
~ those facing difficult and chronic health issues

and give leadership to the mission of our church

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE
You are invited to join us to mark the beginning of Lent with a
worship service on Ash Wednesday, February 18 at 7 pm.

Adult Choir rehearsal begins this Wed., Feb 18. All are welcome!
MEN NEEDED FOR SINGING GROUP!
The Lenten worship planning group is asking for a men's singing
group to have the special music for the church service on March 15. If
you can help with this please meet in the fellowship hall after the
service today.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CURRICULUM
The adult Open Sunday School class will be reading/discussing the
book, Reconcile, by John Paul Lederach. This book points Christians
everywhere to the Bible and challenges readers to apply the principles
of reconciliation. If you are interested in an invigorating discussion,
feel free to join them in the open area in the new basement. This
discussion/study begins February 15, 2015

BETHEL COLLEGE

Fri., Feb. 20 – Internationally acclaimed New Testament scholar
Bart Ehrman speaks in Bethel College convocation, 11 a.m.,
Krehbiel Auditorium, Luyken Fine Arts Center. Ehrman is the James
A. Gray Distinguished Professor of Religious Studies at the
University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.


WINTER LECTURE SERIES
On Monday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Hesston, the Dyck
Arboretum
of
the
Plains
will
continue
its
2015 Winter Lecture Series with Iralee Barnard speaking about
"Grasses of Kansas". The lecture will take place in the Prairie
Pavilion, with a soup supper preceding it at 6 p.m. in the Visitor's
Center. The cost of the lecture is $2 per person, or supper and
the lecture is $7. Interested persons should call 620-327-8127 by 5
p.m. on Friday before the Monday lecture for supper reservations.
HESSTON CONCERT
Enjoy an evening of superb vocal music when Hesston College’s Bel
Canto Singers join the Doane College Choir (Crete, Neb.) and
McPherson College Choir for a collaborative concert at 7 p.m.,
Saturday, Feb. 21 at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston.
Admission is free.
VERENIKE SUPPER
First Mennonite Church, Halstead, KS will hold their annual verenike
supper on Saturday, February 21 from 5-7 pm. Cost is by donation;
proceeds will go to church missions.
SAVE THE DATE
April 11 - WDC Reference Council will be held at Hope Mennonite
Church in Wichita, KS. The focus of this Reference Council will be the
resolution being brought by Rainbow Mennonite Church for Assembly
2015 regarding pastors performing same-sex unions.

DYCK ARBORETUM
On Saturday, March 7, the Dyck Arboretum of the Plains will host
its annual spring educational symposium on the theme of water.
Participants will become more informed about the state of Kansas
water, what conservation solutions are available for our agricultural
systems, municipalities, and landscapes, and how important water is to
our state’s natural history and eco-tourism. Admission: $40 for
arboretum members or $50 for non-members (includes a full day of
presentations, breakfast, and lunch).
