Adults: We welcome all who are interested in becoming members of
the Catholic Church, as well as those Catholics who would like to
complete the Sacraments of Initiation (Eucharist and/or Confirmation).

regarding the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
Infants and Young Children (under age 7): Parents may begin

High School Youth Ministry – The Youth Group of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help brings the faith to teenagers through Antioch and
Cypress Retreats, weekly faith sharing and teenage community
building, trips and recreational activities, with the central focus on
building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Middle School Youth Ministry – The Middle School Youth Group
helps ease the transition for sixth, seventh and eighth graders from
being “children” in the parish, to being active members of the parish
community.
Christian Marriage:
Our Parish Family delights in the witness of Christ's love given by our
married couples. Those who are contemplating marriage should contact
Father Lipnicki to begin preparation for this sacrament.
Music Ministry:
Our Lady of Perpetual Help’s Music Ministry enhances our Liturgies.
The Adult Choir meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30, the Children’s
Choir meets on Thursday afternoons at 4:00. For information regarding
the Choirs, Wedding and Funeral Music, contact Michael Wada

Parish Nurse Ministry:
Parish Nursing is a recognized specialty practice that combines
professional nursing and health ministry. Parish nursing emphasizes
health and healing within a faith community. If you would like to speak
to our Parish Nurse, please contact Kate Unger (201-337-7596).
Women’s Spirituality:
Women’s Spirituality is an opportunity for faith sharing, directed
retreats, team retreats, individual spiritual direction and increased
awareness of parish ministries and community involvement.
Stewardship:
Time, Talent and Treasure: We encourage the members of our Parish
Family to take time for themselves, to spend time with their family and
to devote time to God. We invite all members to share their talent with
the Parish. We embrace tithing 10% - with 5% being reserved for the
Parish and 5% being donated to other charities.
Parish Registration:
All of our Parish Family Members should be registered. We welcome
new parishioners and request that everyone help to keep our Records
updated by notifying the Parish Office of any changes, e.g. address,
telephone number, e-mail.

There will be a Worship/Spiritual Life Ministry Meeting

Thirty-seven Members of our Parish Family with a
couple of guests became Prophet Sharers this past
Monday night. The session proved to be very interesting
if not surprising - maybe even a bit rattling! Our next
session is this Monday October 10th. Bible Study is not

November 19th at Portobello’s Restaurant. Last year’s
Ball was a wonderful event and was enjoyed by all who

Give Thanks and Remember

a play in two acts. This comedy, written by Our Lady of
Perpetual Help’s own Lance and Sue Wetzel together
with Tom & Maureen Lambrix (Most Blessed Sacrament
Parishioners), Margaret's Wedding looks at planning a
wedding in a whole new light. Directed by Susan Binder
it is set in the living room of the groom's parents' house
and brings together the bride and groom, their parents
and their best man and maid of honor for an evening of
tempers, tears and toasting. Please join the Spumoni and
Malone families as they prepare for Margaret's Wedding.

Family Promise Thank You – On Monday and
Wednesday evening last week, several members of our
Parish Family prepared dinner and provided
companionship to three families who currently reside in
the Family Promise Homeless Shelter Program in
Ridgewood. Thank you to Bruce Cipriani, Theresa
Barry, James Barry, Dahlia Nichols (who stayed overnight
with Kate Unger) Brian Salvatore, Jeff Kunz, Jennifer
Kunz, Erica Schneckenberg, Heather Schneckenberg,
Dori Hans, Sarah Confrancisco and Greg Verhoff for
their help in cooking, serving and providing supplies to
the families. It is greatly appreciated! Our next
opportunity to serve will come during the week of
January 29th – February 4th. Please contact Kate Unger if
you are interested in helping out.
The Ramapo Valley Knights of Columbus will be
conducting a membership drive on the weekend of
October 15th – 16th. Catholic men over 18 who are
interested in assisting those in need, serving the parish
community, and growing in their faith should consider
becoming a member. Members of the Ramapo Valley
Council will be present after each Mass next weekend to
answer questions. For more information please

Attention Families of 8th Grade Students wanting to
attend Catholic High School in Fall 2017. The Catholic
High School Entrance Exam (COOP) will be given on
November 11th. Students need to register for this exam
by going to www.coopexam.org, calling 1-888-921-2667.
Each Sunday the Ushers ask people to bring the Gifts of
Bread and Wine to the Altar at Offertory Time. If you
would like to be the Gift Bearers, please inform one of
the Ushers when you come to Mass. It is especially
appropriate for those who have arranged the Mass for
one or more of their Loved Ones to present the Bread
and the Wine for the Eucharistic Sacrifice!
A special Mass and Support Group Meeting for all who
are affected by the Disease of Alcoholism will take place at
Church of Saint Mary (20 Legion Place, Closter) this
Saturday, October 15th at 12:00 noon. Mass is offered for
the support, healing and recovery of not only the
man/woman directly infected with the abuse of alcohol
or drugs, but also for anyone involved in the life of the

p.m., Saint Joseph Regional High School (Montvale),
will be hosting an Open House for prospective students
(6th, 7th and 8th Grade Boys) and their families to gain
more information concerning Saint Joseph Regional, its
programs and the people who make up the SJR

come have some fun with your Youth Group friends!
The Youth Group's 13th Annual Scavenger Hunt is
happening next Sunday, October 16th. Come join in on
the fun!
Cardboard City is happening Saturday, October 22nd.
This night of homelessness awareness is one of our most
moving events of the year.
