BIOGRAPHY
Krypton? Gotham? Bazinga! It’s showtime for DJ Whiz Kid: The young Swiss DJ
and Producer has already made a name for himself and starts to gain attention in
foreign countries.
He has been a Resident-DJ of the prestigious Kaufleuten Club for quite some time
now – always staying innovative, open and brave, Whiz Kid presents his skills as
an eletronic big-room-master not only in the best locations in Switzerland, but he
also played in international clubs such as Cuckoo London, Call Me Drella Munich
or Just Cavalli in Milan.
It is not really a surprise when you see that in his young but stellar career, he
already shared the booth with big names such as Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell,
Avicii, Hardwell, Calvin Harris or Steve Aoki. Whiz Kid also knows how to shine in
his studio and is continuously working new productions – electronic clubmusic,
armed with an anthem-feeling and heavy drops in the right place.
Generally, the likeable Tobias Wedermann (Whiz Kid’s real name), has had music
in his ears since childhood, as well as a fascination for superheros. He lives up to
his artist name in every way and he proved that, when his street-marketing-idea of
his own superhero created a sensation in the Swiss press. It wasn’t just a very smart
PR campaign, it was also the kick-off for his own event label, called Bazinga!,
at the famous Kaufleuten Club. The event series quickly became one of the most
popular and successful in Zurich’s nightlife.
The organisers of the yearly street parade which welcomes one million guests,
recognised Whiz Kid‘s talent and booked him on one of their main stages in 2013.
In a national voting to discover the „Best Swiss DJ“, Whiz Kid made it into the top
ten. The international requests continue to increase and the 1.90 meter tall DJ has
made his hobby into his job.The only drawback is that his superhero adventures
have begun to suffer under the huge amount of bookings these days.
