New Enhancements to the IMC
Web Warehouse
IMC is adding enhanced functionality to a few popular features in the IMC Web
Warehouse to better serve our Customers.
Vehicle Attribute Filters
Additional filters will be added to allow users to narrow down the search for parts to an even more detailed
level. The Cyl/liters/HeadType filter has been expanded to include head type which will include the
designations of DOHC, SOHC, OHV, OHC. Aspiration/Fuel filter results have been expanded to include Nat.
Asp GAS, Turbo Diesel, Turbo Gas and Supercharged Gas. Body Style/Chassis Code has been added and will
include Sedan, Wagon, Convertible and Coupe designations. Drive Type has also been added and will include
Front Wheel Driver (WD), Rear WD and All WD.
VIN Decoder Enhancement
The VIN decoder will now yield even more specific results by using more vehicle attributes. Once the VIN has
been processed, you can drill down by category. The catalog will also display ALL the attributes of the vehicle
that the VIN has called, then you can search by category or Common Jobs.

The founding of an exclusive
MEYLE HD product line came in
response to imminent market
needs, including the increasing
number of recalls in the
automotive industry. There
are several reasons for this: ever
more powerful engine generations,
increasingly intensive cost and
time-to-market pressures make it
extremely difficult for automobile
manufacturers to adequately
adapt to the changing framework
conditions. In addition, deteriorating
road conditions and rising traffic
levels make stop-and-go driving
a growing challenge. The trend
towards lightweight design solutions
and saving on materials results in
significantly shorter part life.
In line with its quality philosophy,
Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG has
responded to the problem of early
OE part failure by developing the
MEYLE HD part range. The German
engineering team based in Hamburg
focuses on safety-critical components,
such as steering and suspension
parts. Using information from the
German Technical Inspection Agency
TÜV, recall statistics and customer
complaints, Wulf Gaertner Autoparts
AG’s engineers identify the parts which
are vulnerable to premature failure.
As a first step in the process the
engineering department determines
which loads have been causing the
OE part to fail. Load interaction is
continuously measured throughout the
entire re-engineering process. When
developing an HD part it is essential
not to lose sight of the overall system.
To gain a thorough understanding
of the effects caused by the loads
applied computational models are
used to simulate power flow dynamics.
Along with failure analyses from TÜV,
DEKRA and other test institutes all
the information required to build
durable parts is readily at hand. At
present, the range of MEYLE HD parts
includes more than 600 items which
fit thousands of different car models
and fully complies with the company’s
commitment to quality. Compliance
with European standards and
regulations forms the basic framework
within which all processes, products
and manufacturing technologies are
set up and developed.
Quality tests are carried out either
on-site using our own measuring
equipment, or at trusted partner
institutes and companies. A wide
variety of tests are performed as
standard, or example hardness tests
on rubber-to-metal parts, impact tests
on ball joints, spring rigidity tests on
rubber bushings, electronic torque
measurements, rubber-to-metal
bonding tests and product resistance
tests. The local team is even able to
run endurance tests on a four-axle test
stand.
Service life is a major criterion for
steering parts. The prime engineering
objective is to design MEYLE and
MEYLE HD parts which match, if
not outshine, OE parts in terms of
durability. The highest-volume items
are stabilizer links, control arms and
tie rods followed by guide joints,
support joints and axial joints.
