Cristian Mogosan Tenor Cristian Mogosan was born in 1983 in Cluj-Napoca and attended the “Sigismund Toduta” Music Highschool. After graduating he continued his musical studies at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy, majoring in singing with Maestro Gheorghe Mogosan. He also took his Master in Arts degree in singing with Professor Ionel Pantea. He attended masterclasses with renowned artists such as Mariana Nicolesco, Laurent Pillo, Margreet Hoing, John Norris, Ion Buzea and Viorica Cortez. Cristian Mogosan is currently in the ensemble of the National Opera of Cluj and associate teacher at the “Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy. He is regularly invited to perform at philharmonics and operas such as National Opera of Bucharest, The National Radio Orchestra and others. Roles performed include Rodolfo - La Boheme by G. Puccini; Erik - Der fliegende Holländer by Richard Wagner; B.F. Pinkerton – Madame Butterfly by G. Puccini; Alfredo – La traviata by G. Verdi; Lensky – Eugene Onegin by P. I. Tchaikovsky; Ismaele – Nabucco by G. Verdi; Don Ottavio – Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart; Orpheus – Orphee aux enfers by J. Offenbach; Cassio – Otello by G. Verdi; Pang – Turandot by G.Puccini; Trabucco – La forza del destino by G. Verdi; The buddy – C.F.R. by Razvan Metea. He performed in the first time national auditions of: Candide – Candide by Leonard Bernstein at the Cluj National Opera in 2007, and Tom Rakewell – The Rake’s Progress by Igor Stravinsky at the same opera in 2009. His performed concert repertoire includes the Messa Di Requiem and Kroenungsmesse by W.A.Mozart; Die Schöpfung by J.Haydn; The 9th Symphony by L.v.Beethoven; Messa di Gloria by G. Puccini; Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini; Theresienmesse by J. Haydn; Die erste Valpurgisnacht by F.MendelssohnBartoldi; Le Deluge – C.Saint Saens; The Christmas Oratorio by Paul Constantinescu; On Horea’s Tracks by S. Toduta; The Prodigal son by C.Cherebetiu; Missa - C.Ripa. He is also the winner of the First Prize at the Performance of Romanian Lied Contest – Brasov (2004), The Jury’s Prize at the “Ion Perlea” National Vocal Performance Contest – Slobozia (2004) and the First Prize at the Hariclea Darclée International Voice Competition – Braila (2010) Upcoming performances include Lensky, Erik, Ismaele and Macduff in Bucharest(RO) , Alfredo and Don Jose in Cluj and Pinkerton in Fribourg, Switzerland.
